Orbea spotted in tue background of FMD how we roll ep 2 that came out yesterday. Hardies bikes carries Obrea but seems a bit sly given rumors.

I’m sure there is, but this isn’t it. It feels like I’m aggressively weighting the front wheel but without having to aggressively weight the handlebars. So I can get the front to bite really easily on turns but I don’t feel like I’m doing handstands down steeps and I can float over chatter really easily. If the stack were lower, it’d feel like a shopping cart, but it’s nice and high so on steep stuff I can push into drops without overcommitting my weight.

I could be wrong, but if done correctly, the co-sponsors can often cover a big chunk of the expenses for the title sponsor. For example they seem like they have a good relationship with continental, and they were the first major time i remember signing on with them when no one really trusted them yet. Doing the gates thing could be another way to grab some money for the team, if gates or pinion is sponsoring the team.

According to the OTB podcast, Atherton is going to be riding a belt drive bike next season to chase the Gates purse. Also an unnamed Kiwi junior is joining the team. Does Luke Wayman have another year of juniors? There's been a rumor of him joining for a while.

Some people said GT actually went away when Richard Long passed in 1997, as he was the heart and soul and driving force of the company, who shaped it into what it was in its glory days. I tend to agree, even if the last part of the 90's was pretty good rider-wise and bike-wise, with good results and good innovation. Apparently one thing that made GT different to other brands was the fact that Richard Long, the head honcho, would travel all year long across the country and talk to the dealers, learn from their needs and take notes...

My 1st MTB was a brand new 1987 GT Avalanche Elite (the bike I'm on in my profile pic) that cost me $680 and I had to finance most of it at over 10% interest as a dumb 18yr old dude. I loved that bike and just recently donated it to a good home. GT will always have a special place in my heart and I hope they can return at some point in time.

You know how rich dorks move into the cool neighborhood and then start complaining about the nightclub’s noise and the neighborhood starts sucking and becomes lame and they’re all looking around like what? That’s what this feels like. Union embodied the passion that truly drives the sport. Their whole thing was to help, not to earn. Pricing them out is not better for anyone.

Top comment from the other site pretty well sums up my thoughts on everything (exclusive of the last sentence, I’ll probably still watch because I’m an absolute mug)… ‘WBD keeps saying these changes are good for the sport, but I’ve never been less excited for a new season of World Cup. I have no plans to watch.’
