Such a shame he doesn't like doing interviews because he is such a laugh to listen to. Suprisingly tolerant answers regarding emtb and flow trails (considering how hardcore he is regarding pedals). Also does Sam live in a birdcage in order to speak with birds, so that he can ask the local wildlife for all the inside line tips when he gets to a new race venue?

I also prefer a fixed chainstay - more reliable to me, compared to just about any adjustable I have used. Skeen does make a valid point about the price increase though. And, I bet Marin will still sell each and every last one.

It's April 1, but this isn't a joke. What has a 480mm reach and a wheelbase that approaches size-large-DH-bike territory, but is made for a rider 5'5" to 5'10"? The punchline probably won't make you laugh, but the ride sure will. The Marin El Roy is one of those freakishly long, slack, steel hardtails and the ride on this limo is considerably more entertaining than any MTB April Fools attempt. Marin is no stranger to the hardtail game when we consider they made their first hardtail over 30 years ago. Even more specifically, they're no stranger to the modern hardtail...

I operate a similar bike. Yes, the HA is fairly slack, and the ST is fairly steep - but it feels surprisingly natural in a fairly short amount of time, and you get used to it quickly. The part about 2x wheelsets to maximize potential is correct, in my experience. Or at least 2x tire options, depending on where and when you're riding.

This is good, but I'm more interested in which website Vital is going to start a war with?!?

As a serial decal remover, I am happy when it's not a waterslide decal. I don't like looking like Ricky Bobby, with a giant Wonderbread ad on my bike.

Espresso is one of my favs when passing through North Van. I always make time for it as a lunch lap before passing through to squamish and beyond. One if the most smiles for miles trails I've ever ridden. Turn your brain off and enjoy.

These are important considerations for a kid's bike. Showing my son videos of Amaury ripping around gets him excited for biking, much more than an extra pound of bike-weight-savings.

I bought one of these (with a matching Amaury Pierron jersey!) last summer for my son and he loves it! No problems with function or getting banged up. I made some studded tires for winter, which is another nice thing with 20+ wheels. We ended up putting some older SLX hydraulic brakes from the parts bin on because Shimano levers adjust pretty far in, but otherwise the stock build is great. I figure that around the end of summer (he will be 7 then) I will start looking for the next size up ...
