The way I read the article from the first post, this type is what's a good TC design (DT): I might be wrong, though, so yeah.

Theoretically speaking, the "Solid Axle with External Preload Collar" is the most optimized. That being said, it still comes down to execution. Bearing sizes, material use, and manufacturing tolerances all play a role. Both the new Shimano XTR and Chris King front hubs feature this layout. The large-format King bearings provide better performance. I'd like to add that this is no fault of the hub manufacturers. All of the various configurations work excellent with conventional forks. There hasn't been a real need to look at front hubs differently until this point.

thank you for posting this. I did my 3 of my 4 weeks of testing the 9.1 with a dt350 front hub and standard end caps. The last week, I used a i9 1/1 hub and standard end caps. The 1/1 hub was noticeably better in terms of front end accuracy, specifically in situations where I was doing very large rock rolls into fully loaded 90 degree catch berms. I have to admit, after riding the podium for a month I really want to re-visit the 9.1 with a chris king front hub or a i9 hydra with torque caps...

I always thought this Lefty demonstration was intriguing. I think the industry has different standards on fork flex these days, but I wanted to try a Lefty after watching this BITD. Let’s also not forget all the wacky moves Aaron Chase used to do with one…

The claw posted a clear photo of his new bike. Looks like a mid-pivot version of the previous gen Altitude.

I'm equal parts bummed and intrigued by the new/revamped eagle lineup. On one hand, SX/NX can die in a fire, and their death is just as exciting to me as new product is in certain ways. On the other, X01 eagle was probably the best all around drivetrain as a package over any other I've ever used. Each component of that drivetrain was stellar; cassette, chain, derailleur and shifter. That being said, while I still have a bike in the garage with that setup... I wouldn't be selecting it as a new build. I guess in that case, it makes...

If the XX1 chains go away, this is super bad news. I assume S200 will be at the shitty GX level, if that. Edit: looks like there is still the S500 chain that replaces the old XX1. The S200 chain is crap, as is SRAM's replacement matrix.

Sounds like a skill issue. Anyway, there's a thread for you to whine about brakes in. Your comments add nothing about tech rumors.

@sethimus @Evil96 @CascadeComponents I love, like love-love, that someone with an engineering background (and seemingly a degree) and a wealth of manufacturing experience provided factual mathematical evidence, and it has been refuted by "I believe the manufacturer of this shiny new thing I bought", like conformation bias doesnt exist or something.... There's a quote about facts and opinions that I'm trying to remember here...... it'll come to me....

Pivot must think that EMTB motors are like Pokemon... gotta catch 'em all! Shimano EP8, Fazua 60, Bosch CX 5, Bosch SX, Avinox M2... only ones they've missed are the TQs.
