Somehow emtbs are going in a direction a lot of us figured they’d go from the start. It is more and more about the motor and the battery and less and less about the „bike“ part. They might be fun, they might be fast. But to me it seems more and more like two different sports. With those new torque numbers, it seems rather dubious (ridiculous) to talk of assistance. Maybe the rider assisting the motor, but not the other way around. Not even world class sprinters come close to outputting what a full power Avinox or Bosch is doing...

Just a hunch, but I doubt Santa Cruz is letting YouTubers/Instagramers test out new stuff... especially with Specialized tires. Willing to put money that's just a XO RSV Bullit with a wrap on it.

Colorblind guy here so take this with a grain of salt but very similar, maybe same, as Nomad 3: Life is too short for bland ass colorways for my two cents.

Interesting that they describe it as "aggressive all-mountain" rather than just enduro. Wonder if it's become a bit of a dirty word since the professional side of racing has effectively collapsed and brands want to paint their bikes as more all-round performers

Looks like mechanical cable routing is back - if that is a CC frame. (Fingers crossed)

On the topic "SRAM stuff": Maybe some limited Maven+Motive Sets again And love some more options for the Flight Attendant shocks, too. Everything but the SuperDeluxe Ultimate FA and the SIDLuxe FA are OEM only (right?). Would really like some options for smaller bikes like the Reya thats not the SIDLuxe FA "Bad Habit" looks sick!

There's a good thread already going on this topic. Basically that hub design/configuration has more impact on stiffness of an inverted fork than axle diameter. https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/hub/enginerding-inverted-forks-and-fron…

This is spot on. I have probably 5000 miles on Megatower V1 and 2000 miles on V2. The SC lower link VPP bike have a "simple" but effective kinematic that can highlight differences in shock characteristics and performance. Shorter travel bikes seem to typically be optimized around a single shock and base tune, when you deviate from that it's uncharted waters. You might end up with something really good or something bad. From a philosophical standpoint I think more MTB journalism outlets need to dial in on this. Testing different shocks on different frames with different riders is a huge...

Regarding new SRAM and Rockshox stuff: there will also be a new Super Deluxe Air, and most likely an Ochain announcement.

Regarding the knocking, a guy I know just had to warranty his 38 GRIP X2 because the damper side stanchion was coming loose from the crown. That made a knocking sound, and he noticed the damper top cap was coming loose. He tightened it and it returned, at which point he noticed the stanchion was loose. Might be worth looking in those areas.
