In Australia at least the Trek stores aren't real local bike shops. They are 'Trek shops' and stock only trek and bontrager with a handful of other accessories. Even then they dont stock at lot of small trek items and it can take quite some time to order parts in. It's not even worth ordering in anything that isn't Trek or Bontrager. I bought a Gen 6 Slash at a very big trek store in Australia around 12months after it came out and they had released updated parts and service bulletins to fix the chain dropping issues. None of it...

They're all really good. Performance Process is mega-road-nerd-nirvana and Spin Cycle is highly entertaining roadie snark and Wheel Talk does a fantastic job telling women's racing stories. Geek Warning is my favorite, solid bike and tool nerd coverage w/ good technical Q&A

I mentioned Geek Warning, but wasn't explicit about that being a podcast. So many great ones- Iain's "Rabbit Hole" podcast about Greg Lemond being shot was one of the best things I've ever listened to. And the COVID boom/bust was a great listen too.

Pretty sure there are international discount codes, Escape has tons of members in Australia and Europe. Nobody has even mentioned their podcasts, which to me are worth the price of membership alone.

What a nightmare for Oisin to have bouncing around in the back of his mind. Am I gonna be holding another empty bag at the end of the season? I hope that his contract states something about "I get paid wages in full for the full season up front and bonuses are due even if sponsors go insolvent" just as a reaction to the YT debacle. ...but it's pretty tough to be that demanding when you're unemployed and looking for anyone who will take you racing the following year!

^What @dolface said.^ I started racing on the road in 1990, and while I don't ride asphalt road anymore (except to get between dirt sections) I'm still a fan of the sport so I'm a bit biased. There's probably less than 30% coverage of XC and gravel in race and equipment coverage, but Geek Warning has a bit more. The member discounts are really good, but the writing and capitol "J" Journalism is outstanding.

If any of those 2021/22 bike industry investors are looking to recover after getting crushed from the post-Covid sales slump, I have some mixed use commercial and residential properties that I'm putting on the market. **and yes Jeff, I realize this prop/facade joke isn't a fair apples-to-apples comparison for bike company valuations in 2021, like Rad Power estimated at $1.65 billion. But in hindsight... it sure feels like this.

I travelled there for a riding trip with a couple of friends last year over the second half of August. We flew from Calgary to Paris, rented a van so we could haul our bikes around and stayed in Scionzier (about 30-40 minutes from Morzine, but about the same distance we have to drive to our local trails, so not a big deal at all). Yeah, I get that Saturday race days are tricky for a lot of people, but if the Cascadia Dirt Cup is selling out on most race weekends... it seems like you've found an audience who that format is working for. When I was racing, I always loved Saturday race days at the CDC because it meant I wasn't getting home at midnight on a Sunday night if I had work on...

I know nothing about this, but couldn’t you guys set up a patreon with proceeds going towards race coverage? There seems like there would be a reasonable amount of support, or sell merch, make it expensive but all profits go towards race coverage. Someone should make a new thread about ways to fund vitals World Cup expenses.

Dialed was fantastic with all of it, the stories, the editing, and all around fun by Shaffer, and Jake. Killer work. It is sorely missed, and a shame that Fox shut it down. It was the essence of the World Cup week. One day I hope it makes a comeback.
