11/15/2024 8:46am No riding for me this weekend, my new spokes didn't come in so I can't lace up a set of fresh cranks.

11/15/2024 8:45am Strange. The current (and just updated Range) is being carried forward in NA. If I had to guess that's actually the new VLT sight but with a long travel treatment akin to the current one going 170/160 in some models for 2025.

11/15/2024 8:41am Gonna need a link to more info about those wild spoked chainrings. Never have I ever seen that in bike history.

11/14/2024 5:03pm Sorry, you may only refer to that website as "the other website" around here. Know the rules. However, "self proclaimed biggest mtb media empire in the world" is an acceptable alternative. Good correction.

11/14/2024 4:58pm I know it's taboo, but I buy, use, and enjoy a lot of parts from AliExpress. If you know what you're doing you can get some incredible quality stuff at dollar discount prices. I imagine these tariffs will put a swift end to all that.

11/14/2024 9:52am Love the phrasing but hard disagree on the last point, in the interior of BC people notice FOX because... interior BC. Marzocci simply wouldn't cut it.

11/14/2024 9:51am I often pondered this, but then they go ahead and release absolute turds like the AWL series for (yuk) e-suvs. In that case, sacrificing image can't be all that important to them, all for a segment that probably doesn't notice who makes anything on their bike.

11/14/2024 8:34am God I love economics. Was on the edge of my seat wondering what Ben Stein would say next. Maybe he'll talk about the gold standard and managed float in currency valuation!

11/14/2024 6:29am They don't need to buy new bikes to make it happen, plenty of long travel bikes from a couple years ago have slightly too high BBs and slightly too steep head angles. On a platform where STA doesn't matter, just slap a 26 inch wheel out back and good to go.

11/13/2024 11:23am TIL, all these years I thought it was the last vestige of the Thunderbolt living on! Cheers Ken, should have worked a bit harder on the PK day.

11/13/2024 11:21am The Reaper 27.5 is indeed a XS Instinct Alloy frame, just rebranded. We did this to appeal to the kids market. I mean, who wouldn't want a bike with this saddle on it?

11/13/2024 11:12am Sure, but: 1. why not make a large then? They already have the tooling! 2. having sold a ton of "expensive" bikes to parents, I see this as a hard sell because the majority of parents are going to be cross shopping with things on discount as well as bikes they perceive as having an easier resell when their kid...

11/13/2024 11:04am Does anyone know exactly what they did to kinematics? Looking at the geo it is actually the same as the old scout but with the top sizes taken off. Im also wondering if the cascade link would still fit it cause it looks pretty much the same if you fit a medium or under.

11/13/2024 10:44am Not trying to sell anything here but RMB makes SM and XS bikes with smaller wheels, lower standover heights, and lightweight kinematics to favour lighter riders. Some brands do offer these bikes. 2021 Instinct SM in 27.5 size for ex (we offer a SM in 29 as well; it's own, distinct frame design).

11/13/2024 10:56am Yes, only the majority of humans on earth would fit on a Scout. It's a bit strange, you see other brands like Norco with the sight youth offering it in a one-size, likewise with Rocky with the youth Reaper (you can't tell me that renamed thunderbolt is the same model as the other reaper, Ken!). Transition has gone seemingly all-in...

11/13/2024 10:43am weird for sure, given the intended height ranges for it. I know adults that would fit the medium scout.

11/10/2024 7:32pm That website is pure GOLD "where recoil meets luxury" "Use Youtube influencers code to get what you want! (PS:RFloXa /ˈriːˌfloˌsɑː/)" -The phonetic spelling there seems to make it less clear how to say the name but will we see a wave of people running them on instagram and youtube soon?

11/9/2024 6:30pm Aston lists some of the problems in his review https://www.astonmtb.bike/reviews/nicolai-nucleon-supre-drive I disagree with him on many things regarding bicycles, but what he lists here seem like valid first generation product issues that need to be fixed for it to become a more widespread alternative to existing drivetrains.
