9/14/2026 6:17am If Transition is a catalogue brand then almost every brand is aside from hand-made projects would be by your estimates then. Since when does it matter ultimately if engineering is in house, us based contractors or Taiwanese contractors? Catalogue implies picking a frame from a pre-designed catalog. Not having a bespoken frame made and engineered for you. Particularly frames like the Spur, which catalogue did they pick that from?

9/10/2026 9:45am Yeah, I would have figured Transition would go at least next year for new models, and maybe a new suspension setup from what some of y'all are saying.

9/10/2026 6:52am Only two model years for the current generation? That's a quick turn-around!

9/9/2026 6:25am Tall guy here. Agreed...for more playful riding. It's pretty nice having a 29er trail bike that rolls over everything and never buzzes my butt. But for my xc rig or gravel bike? I'm at least curious about some of the rumblings that the larger wheels are faster.

9/9/2026 6:23am I will never understand why all the tall people are fawning over 32. They’re literally in the Goldilocks zone of having 29ers handle like 27.5 does to us normal folk BUT also get the better rollover of 29.

9/8/2026 6:36am That’s why I run a smaller one. I lock up the rear way easier. I don’t need that stabby bite like the front.

9/8/2026 6:33am What do you mean amplify. Weight transfer gives you more grip. It only makes sense to have more braking power (i.e. bigger rotor) in the front. QED: literally every car on the road. If it has a rear weight bias (Porsche for example) or a near 50 50 split, the difference front to rear is smaller, but still present.

9/8/2026 6:22am Wasn’t there a huge discussion here last year about that and the conclusion basically came down to airflow being negligible in cooling an mtb shock?

8/14/2026 10:49am Could be 145mm rear with a 160mm fork like the MTe too? The LT and LTe are both 160mm rear with 170mm forks.

8/14/2026 6:37am That'd track with their SB130/140 history. Maybe standard140/150 and 140/160 Lunch Ride builds.

8/14/2026 4:45am A given mass of the load is assumed and a given behaviour of the system for a given use category is assumed which then, via accelerations of said mass during use, gives you the forces acting upon the frame and thus the design parameters for your construction.

8/14/2026 4:44am The discourse about the new Kona ebikes on Pinkbike is baffling to me. Clearly I'm out of touch, but I don't think it looks ugly, I think the geo is good, the Bosch motors are proven well supported and one of the best on the market, what's the problem?

8/14/2026 4:44am mass and force are different. “maximum mass” is actually the exact right wording to nullify your question about g force.
