Really glad they didn't radically change the bike. Just minor updates and some fresh paint, great agile trail bike for your everyday rider.

Likewise. As much as I love aggressive trail bikes for descending, it’s a relief when its time to spin back to the truck and the mellower stuff is still enjoyable.

I'm in your size range but a bit taller at 6'6". My G1 had a 535 reach but only a 659mm top tube and 140mm head tube with a 79 ESTA and a massive 1350 wheelbase. I didn't like this that much. I switched to an XXL Megatower that's only has 520 reach but a 670 top tube which effectively moves me forward on the bike but has a longer cockpit which is accomplished by the slightly slacker seat tube I think. The WB is only 1333 but that makes a huge difference for riding. The G1 felt like a...

Yeah I'll admit I zoomed in on both and matched some key freckles on both hands. Some are not as prominent in the mondraker photo but I'm 99% sure it's him. ... the whole process felt weird as hell haha.

I dont know anything about Dak, but Ryan has gotten his fastest times ever on the bike on runs he knows very well and can make good comparisons. Mondraker is keen to make the bike fast and and is making that a priority. So I think whomever is on the bike will do well.

Vans have already tried to push into MTB in the early to mid 2010’s. Google “Vans Warner clipless shoe”. I vividly remember D-Riff and Brad Benny running them in the Chumba/Giant Nerd team days.
