Today I learned, Chris Cumming’s nickname is Cumdog. It’s a shame we aren’t in the Freecaster days, him and the Redcar Rocket being on the same team would have Warner pissing himself with innuendo.

Vital tech editor, Jonny Simonetti, takes you for a hot lap down the funny, flowy Red Mountain Rush Trail in Mesa, Arizona. Located in the Hawes trail system, Red Mountain Rush is full of fun corners, tricky tech sections and plenty of cactus to take out knuckles and tires. Jonny is riding the new Pivot Switchblade. Can we get past the idea that everything has to be the same, but also different. Look, if its not for you, its not for you, but could be for others. I have XT's, Code RSC's, and have spent time on TRP DH EVO's. I prefer the RSC's full stop (pun intended, but only after proof reading) I do not want the light lever feel of TRP's or XT's. I find them vague, and prefer the required force to pull RSC's Some people like different things, so lets stop lamenting that SRAM didnt make a brake for YOU, but instead...

To chime in on this, I was aware of the piston massage before I received my set of Mavens for review and had the procedure explained to me prior to setup. I chose to not do it for two reasons. 1) Ive ridden every Avid/SRAM hydraulic brake since the Juicy Seven and have only ever needed to do that procedure...

Tha combined with the mounting a shifter issue... when he is using a matchmaker brake clamp backwards with an i-spec shifter.... how about mount the shifter to the clamp the brake has, or use a lower profile clamp in the correct direction... everything about that was a mess

There’s also the incredibly likely chance this random Youtuber is going out of his way to find anything remotely negative about a product that has generally favorable reviews solely to generate clicks.

Jonathon Simonetti Added a reply to 2.4 tires for enduro

Vittoria Mazza and Maxxis Assegai are the two best tires I've ridden on loose over hardpack. Whatever you choose, look for something with a minimal gap between the center and side knobs. Eliminating that gap as much as possible will create a more consistent feeling when pitching the bike into turns and across off-camber or flat sections.

Just a heads up about tire sizing, because you seem to be dead set on getting a 2.4" tire. Not all 2.4" tires are the same size, and the best way to get a sense of the actual size of a tire is the ETRTO listing on the sidewall of the tire. For instance, the old 26" Maxxis Minion DHF 2.5" had an ETRTO listing of 58mm, but the new 29" Maxxis Minion DHF 2.5" has a ETRTO listing of 63mm. They're both ostensibly a 2.5" tire, but in reality one is 10% wider. Why? The 2.5" moniker is there...

Already discussed this in the comments below, the geo chart I was provided prior to my writeup listed 63° but the updated one suddenly said 65. Norco confirmed it’s actually 65, not sure why the one I was given says 63 on it.
