Jonathon Simonetti Added a reply to Nerding out on Brakes shall we? Not another tech deraliment
4/26/2024 4:09pm I think how similar they are is almost a good thing for anyone riding them since it's a proven design. But still feels very "Shimona" despite not infringing on the actual Trick Stuff name.

Jonathon Simonetti Added a reply to Do Chainstay Adjustments Effect Travel?
4/26/2024 3:27pm While the change in travel is minimal, the change in leverage ratio is also pretty minimal but can be noticeable depending on the bike. On some bikes, I've needed to add a couple of psi to achieve the same sag percentage when switching to the longer chainstay position.

4/26/2024 3:12pm DHRII as well, I'm really curious to see what Pirelli comes out with in the future. Minion/Krypotal fusion? Maybe just some hot patches instead?

4/26/2024 2:58pm If only a few details have changed from the actual Trick Stuff brakes, wouldn't that mean they probably work about the same and just look a bit different? While the similarities are undeniable, these seem like a really cool and affordable option so long as we don't see Intense Factory riders flying off the track or blowing up sets of...

4/26/2024 12:00pm That is not the new Stumpy. It's going to lose the side arm like the current version. Like the Levo SL, which is basically the new Stumpjumper. Specialized is in a bind with the Stumpjumper EVO as they still have more stock to clear out, which is why the new model has been done and not released for over a year.

4/13/2024 1:33pm To each his own, I guess. I like this combo, but in this phase I am more of a black on black guy. So I dig if bike companies have for each model a neutral color combo plus a wilder one. What I noticed at Rocky is that all the colors have names of classic rock songs. I don't know if they ar doing it since this year or if it is a longer running thing, but it is cool AF. It also reminds me of the metal days of Nitro Snowboards, when each year their clothing lineup had names...

Jonathon Simonetti Added a comment about press release Yeti Updates the SB165
4/13/2024 1:31pm I updated the article with the leverage curve they provided. I think that a lot of people only look at percentages to dictate how much support a bike will provide and ignore the fact that the percentage of change can start from a very high ratio. This bike starts pretty low and stays there which I like because it doesn't hit a wall of compression but instead feels very supportive throughout its travel. This seems like a smart move to me because, with a coil shock, it has great small bump absorption, but if replaced with an air shock (i.e...

4/13/2024 1:22pm it's litterally the opposite of what you're saying, a very progressive bike will sit deeper into the travel and will be easier to use 3/4 of the travel while hard to use the last 1/4, a more linear bike will have more support towards the mid stroke

4/11/2024 11:09pm Bit of a bummer to see early on into testing. Im interested to see if it needs much more attention after re-torquing.
