Hunches, yeah! That’s why we come here. Heresay, conjecture, whispers, water cooler rabble, that sort of thing. Not battery manufacturer chit chat.

Give the guy a break. I am so addled by the electrified hum of so many e-bike posts to notice a team rumor post without a video. Anyway, hope he finds something. Darkfest is dope. Maybe give him Matt Jones' Marin sponsorship.

I use isopropyl alcohol and 80 to 180 grit emery paper/cloth (just depends what I have on hand). For the pads, soapy water in the sink (plug in). Rub the pads against each other. Followed by just water, rubbing the pads together. Might take some rubbing (sometimes not long), but you know when they are done as the pads start...

I wonder if Mondraker will bring someone into replace him for the season like Ollie Davis and the Syndicate last year . I assume at this stage everything is paid for anyway so you might as well bring someone else along .

For those w/out Insta, broken hip socket ( acetabulum) from a freak moto crash (he didn't provide deets), surgery, no weight-bearing/walking for 3 months.

That was the idea, increase volume for less progression near bottom out. I have a Chickadeehill in a Boxxer. It is a well thought out version of a second positive air chamber system. Modular design, very light weight, the piston is bored out and it uses a quad ring to seal. For sure German....😉

Those trails are great, your just not good enough. Hike a bike with a smile. Whats boring to ride down will be fun to ride up, whats fun to ride down you cant ride up. Ride your bike in winter when its shitty ski conditions.

Yeah, I would. There are enough ways to manipulate the way it feels that'd it be cool to ride it on different designs. I had a Genie shock show up this week (*was not in a bottle). If/when I have other test bikes that the shock fits I'll toss it on to see what it's like.

Similar set-up with a hole drilled in the bottom for exta volume. I went with 2 o-rings so stop any chance of the piston cocking in the bore. The second o-ring doesn't do any sealing, it is just a guide. I also trialled a piston with double u-cup seals. But I tested the breakaway force needed to get it moving...

Nice! What do you have going on with the piston? I have been playing with the stock RUNT +10mm extended piston. I bored it out and was able to increase the internal volume by close to 10% with the goal being to reduce the progression. I also swapped out the o-ring for a quad ring and a few other things. Seems to be working well, improvement over stock for sure.

I've only played around with the free version, initially by plugging in my existing LSC shim-stack and then aiming for something stiffer. Most recently, I asked chatGPT for a (stiffer than what I put in) shim-stack recommendation. I then used restackor to confirm and adjust to confirm a stiffer shim stack. Full disclosure: I have no skin in this game...

It's not. The results arent even close to the real world but even in you spend hours getting perfect measurements of your damper it still doesn't give you anything useful. It promotes itself as replacing a dyno but it really isn't, you are better off with trial and error as restackor will just confuse you. You would think it might be useful to iterate shim stacks before dyno testing them but it isn't, I'm pretty sure it would be cheaper and easier to teach yourself CAD and CFD with some of the free and open source software tools out there...

Nice work! That would be excellent. I also used a lock on grip clamp for a universal IFP tool I was working on a few years ago - its the perfect size for a tool that fits in almost any shock body! (also had an integrated o-ring sizing cone, X2 IFP puller and a flat side for sticking a ruler on). I planned to test a flat steel version with a shim ID measure tool instead of the cone too. @Primoz - yeah Fox service tool pricing is ridiculous and even worse that they change the sizing every few years...

Diy IFP depth tool: cut handlebar and old lock on grip. Use a ruller or caliper to adjust how much of the handlebar sticks out

If you could go back in time to those first years of riding, what are some things you'd wish somebody would have told you sooner? Let's create a nice thread for our new-to-the-sport fellow riders to reference and learn from! I'll start off with a couple easy ones: Set up your bike properly. No, I don't mean you need to buy stuff (we all know that will come soon enough anyway 😁 ), but get the most out of what you have. Play around with cockpit set-up, aiming for comfortable one-finger braking and shifter/dropper post levers that don't get in...
