So I’m on the “hard to root for Jackson” team. Not because of his winning streak, and definitely not because of his talent—on the contrary, his riding style and speed are incredible. I just don’t vibe with the loud jocks who feel the need to push themselves into the spotlight at every opportunity. I always found Gracia super annoying, think BK is cringe, and Thanee also gets on my nerves. Meanwhile, the more reserved riders like Vouilloz, Chausson, or Sam Hill—who were just as talented and fast in their time—I find extremely likable. That’s also why I get along better...

Mondraker splitting up their team or not re-signing anyone would be a huge mistake. From outward appearances, they all get along well. All they need is an absence of bad luck, not even really good luck and they could have three top 5/10 riders next year. Ronan is already there currently. Dak has been there and all signs point to him climbing back once recovery is complete. Pinky has shown so many glimpses of brilliance and with just a tad more development should be there too. Around here, I mostly see FS e-MTB on trails, self-shuttling more often than not. The hot ticket for retirees is electric fat bikes. I can hear them coming up behind me when I'm riding to the pub - an odd cacophony of electric motor at full throttle mated to the thrum of overinflated 4" wide tires - and zip past doing 40 km/h, no pedalling.

In this current format of team/rider eligibility, no chance of locals racing year one. IF someone is inspired and has deep enough pockets to go get some UCI points, then maybe in year three, a slim chance at year two. There's little to no support for local riders. I'd put my money on one of two local juniors if they hit the gym and move abroad to train and collect points since they've both already outgrown the local parks.
