On the Stumpy and proprietary shock. In the pinkbike podcast they discussed a new patented shock design that they use on the world cup. The way I heard it was the intention was to adjust the damper curve control the last 20% of travel in a more controlled manor than with tokens (or whatever a shock ramp is called). They...

Pivot Switchblade is another good option in that range. I have owned the Stumpy Evo, previous Switchblade and current Switchblade and it wasn't a contest for me. I didn't ever mesh with the Stumpy on tech climbs (others love it so I concede this could be a me problem) and found the old Switchblade equal or better on everything else. The newer Switchblade is a baby Firebird and is better at bombing down trails than either. I don't think they hurt the climbing in any noticeable way either. I have a lot of bikes and any time I just select...

It makes sense for local beer league where people have other commitments in life, but not for Pros. Consistency maters. What might be more interesting is if there was more money at stake for teams to collect points like the F1 Constructors Standings and cash paid out for better standings. Teams are two men, one women, one jr men, one jr women. Can't have a team like Specialized with just three men.

Has anyone done any specific testing on impact resistance of casing between companies? I just recently got a Continental Xynotal in Enduro Casing after I blew up my WTB Trailboss light casing + tannus insert on the first ride. Can't fault the tire as it was my fault and poor line choice. I'm asking because I'd always ran an Exo+...

Hi guys! Just coming here to say that I ended up getting a Demo s2 and I am so so happy about how it turned out. I don't feel it small, I feel it just perfect. Reminder, I am 162-163 cm, so anyone that comes after me with the same question has the answer Smile Thanks to those who have helped! Means a lot.

The reach and stack of the S2 Demo is very close to the Small Summon. I'd recommend S2. The S3 I would think would be hard to maneuver around in terms of lifting the front wheel. I've found that on bikes with longer reach. On a downhill bike the key numbers to look at are reach and stack, this shows...

That is not the new Stumpy. It's going to lose the side arm like the current version. Like the Levo SL, which is basically the new Stumpjumper. Specialized is in a bind with the Stumpjumper EVO as they still have more stock to clear out, which is why the new model has been done and not released for over a year.

As I'm curious about the new stumpy, I took a screen grab of his most recent video. IT doesn't look different than the current stumpy, but hard to say. And here is the instagram post referenced. "It’s almost time for a new bike for the 2024 race season but I’ll always have a soft spot for this beautiful thing" with...

Honest question, what surfaces are you having problems with on Maxxis DC tires? I've been running a Maxxgrip front/DC rear combo for years on in Oregon, Washington, BC, California, Arizona, and Idaho in the sun and rain and haven't had any problems with it as a rear tire*. For a downhill race I'd switch to a Maxxgrip rear for just a little more grip and damping over chatter, but it's not like the bike was unridable with the harder rear tire. *Of course, dual compound tires should never, ever, ever be mounted as a front tire
