ebruner Liked a reply to forum topic Who rides in pants that aren’t specific MTB pants?
4/3/2026 6:50am I've got some 686 Everywhere pants that are my go to for trail work, camping or riding. They are not as cheap as some non-bike specific alternatives (~110 usd iirc) but they are honestly pretty amazing for all rounders. Great for trips where I am going to be riding and prioritize clothing that can be dual use, without looking like a bike dork when I don't want to.

1/22/2026 2:16pm Cheers for all the insight, everyone! I've been chasing down a Levo SL frame all week that if I can rip it from FedEx's damn hands, I'm going to swap all the parts from my alloy Stumpy 15 over. I was doing some simple math, and the time it's going to take to overhaul my Stumpy for this trip is probably more than just building the Levo SL. AND the Levo SL without the battery will weigh maybe a pound more than my Stumpy lol. I'm not even that fussed about finding a battery when I'm there. If anyone has...

1/6/2026 1:20am When Jack's post said that after 14 years, he wanted time to do things he wants to do.. Even if there was an offer on the table with someone, that doesn't mean he has to take it. There comes a point where one's mental health becomes the priority. He even mentioned that he had previously considered retirement.. Not everyone wants to race to the point that they are lucky to qualify.. Burnout is a real thing, even amongst some of the best in the biz...

11/25/2025 6:21pm Thanks to those who've taken time to write kind words about Downtime. I was expecting to get some hate for this episode as there is definitely a lot of frustration out there on this topic and Markus appears to be a very polarising character. For what it's worth, I put in the time to understand the concerns of the MTB world as much as was possible from forums etc and I believe that all those key points were covered in this interview. I also took time to understand the mechanisms of Private Equity and just why growth is essential and...

8/1/2025 5:12am Are you sure you're not talking about the cheese AR30? Those are awful rims. the ARC30 Is quite good, Im not a light weight and it got thrashed over summer at QT skyline and CAP.(+ other places) - i was not kind to it, its killed many tyres

7/23/2025 12:49am I 100% agree with this. I never had any issues with bleeding countless SRAM Code RSC's (dot), and really liked them for how easy and consistent the bleed process was to make them feel great. I now have Mavens and can't seem to get the rear feeling good no matter what I try. I've tried countless bleeds, new hoses, new...

7/18/2025 11:49pm Although I'm a sucker for all the latest rumors and innovation on the tech-front (which in between chainstay length discussion sometimes occur in this thread), as a company it just sucks whenever people decide to leak stuff willingly. There's people doing their best to create marketing & launch campaigns around new products, and most of the time go to great lengths to make sure it doesn't get public before. (Yes if you as a brand decide to go to Crankworx with an unreleased product it's up to you...) Usually there's a slew of NDA's signed, and more often than not...

6/13/2025 3:41am Great thread. I'll share my own.. Been working in the industry for years now in various roles, this has turned me into my non-bike friends go to person for anything bike related. A friend hit me up to change his pedals for him - not a problem, bring the bike over, I've worked in shops for years, and changed thousands...

2/15/2025 10:59pm All the sponsorship posts from AON/Reece & Sleeper.co have been so dialed. Sure, they're trying to hype up their sponsors and 'sell' people on why they are choosing to run X product. But the short insta vids have been insightful without feeling forced. Shit, for a second I thought I might need some Rev Grips 😂 (disclaimer: I haven't ridden them, and probably should to form a worthwhile opinion. I'm sure they provide some advantages).

honeymoon Added a reply to Finale Ligure: what trails, what bike, what to expect?
1/30/2025 2:58am The trails you've named will make up for some great riding. The trails are quite rocky and hard packed (especially kill bill and madonna), worth a cush core in your rear if you known to harm a rear wheel when things get rough. If you can sqeeze it in, pedal over to DH men, classic EWS stage and most recognisable...

1/30/2025 2:43am You are way overthinking this, any decent enduro bike will be absolutely fine. I rode there with ibis ripmo v1 and had a blast. Little Champery was my favorite trail, its sandy and grips really well, probably even better in wet. Only thing that threw me off was the amount of people, didnt expect top of Nato base was that crowded...

1/27/2025 3:40am Check that the chain isn't contacting the derailleur when it's in the 10t cog. I've noticed on some frames (including a new SJ15) that SRAM's recommended chain length in 2 links too long, and causes contact. Remove a link and check this over, maybe best to try this with a old transmission chain if you have one laying around just...
