1/31/2023 4:47pm lmao, right next to the "patent this existing design, but make it slightly different" button on the Dave Weagle version.

1/31/2023 4:45pm The new SRAM stuff does pretty rad, but is there any advantage of the whole derailleur being directly mounted to the frame via the direct mount option? More ground clearance? Smoother shifting? Isn't that what the hangers were for..if you strike a rock and just the hanger is bent, you can sometimes salvage the derailleur - and in this case being mounted directly, just replace the whole thing? won't come cheap...

1/31/2023 4:45pm One advantage is certainly that the new rear derailleurs are much flatter and do not protrude so far. The other is that SRAM uses its power more and its UDH dropout could become standard.

1/31/2023 4:44pm Another spy shot of the new SRAM drivetrain from the Queenstown Bike Fest. The cranks and bash guard look pretty sweet.

1/30/2023 9:43am Fun fact about Pirelli is that 46% of the company is owned by Chinese ChemChina, which in October 2022, the United States Department of Defense added to a list of "Chinese military companies" operating in the U.S.

1/27/2023 4:27pm A winning setup doesn't last forever...I made the choice that I thought would bring me success for many years to come. Canyon has a bigger commitment to racing and winning and I've always felt I wanted a little extra help to go even faster. I recorded a podcast with Downtime last week so that should be out soon and explain some more.

1/27/2023 4:27pm Mr. Moi Moi , Kasper and Angel seem to be like the only ones left. Seems to be something going on with the Specialized Enduro team too since they haven't released their team roster yet. Saw somewhere that Transition is putting together a "Factory" team... That still has to be announced.

1/27/2023 4:27pm And I correct that Jesse maintained a 29/29 set up on his Rocky? Whereas Remi and ALN were mixed 29/27b? Was hoping we might see some weirdness to get his new Canyon mixed but probably not based on a 3 second Google search for his bike check. Can't wait to see Jesse, Jack, and Richie continue their battles. Hopefully Martin is in the mix too.

1/27/2023 4:26pm It’s interesting to me that Canyon had the money to lure him away from Rocky but not enough to just keep Moir in the first place.

1/27/2023 4:26pm If I had to guess, I bet Rocky is somewhat psyched for Melamed and encouraged him to go make some good money for a few years that they currently aren’t in a position to match. They probably also told him that when he decides to take a step back from racing to come back and they would try to find some role for him again at Rocky. All good things come to an end and I suspect no bridges were burned here. I bet he is going to love the Rock Shox suspension.
