I would just interject that potentially, not all HBO system designs are appropriate for all consumers. I find the HBO system in a smashpot effective, but pretty easy to setup wrong, impacting fork performance. Some rebound systems in forks I think are a bit more idiot proof, Manitou's HBO setup works well with a pretty trick rebound check system, so it's minimizing it's impact on HSR when a suspension event is deep enough for it to come into play. Just completed putting the second Smithage system on my Kenevo comp....this runs a Fox40 with the 27.5 lowers at 160mm travel with a 27.5 front wheel in keeping with the bikes original wheel sizes.... The bikes original 180mm fork and axle to crown / fork length of 572mm is now 587mm with 160mm fork and 55mm Link travel for 215mm total travel....this extra height in the front and consequential change in steering geometry is a little offset by running a 2.3 front tire replacing the stock 2.6 front and a 2.8 rear tire replacing the stock 2.6 rear. For inverted forks I clamp the stanchions in the bike stand and remove the bike.

fwiw, for inverted forks, you clamp the upper legs to the stand and dont need to remove the fork from your bike at all ; )
