If you buy a good set of carbon wheels with lifetime warranty you do typically hold onto them over multiple bikes.. it’s what makes them cost effective.

This is getting down voted, and maybe it's controversial, but I kind of agree with it. I don't think a trail bike necessarily needs long chainstays or a head angle below 64⁰. That's what your all mountain or enduro bike is for. It's not like conservative geo on bikes is dangerous or un-rideable.

And the financial reward for hyper-specialization of fancy doctors vs. minimal payout for GP's and pediatricians. If we can make $600k a year on heart or vascular surgery that's great, but heaven forbid we provide good consistent health care to that same patient for the first 55 years of their life. How is a GP ever supposed to pay off $400k in high interest student debt when they make $93k a year? Not saying it's impossible to pay that off, but if you're smart enough to be a GP you're damn sure smart enough to make 3x that money with...

Quick rant, does anyone else think Treks new e-bike naming convention sucks. EX-e was fine, easy to search, minimal, clearly differentiated it from the non-ebike versions. Their new naming convention seems to just be putting + after everything. Fuel+, Rail+, Slash+ etc. It doesn't work at all from an SEO perspective, the + ends up getting lost in google and you end up with a bunch of results for outgoing bikes or non-ebike versions when you search it. And Slash-e is way more fun to say than Slash+.

$435 retail for a replacement of the bottom-tier derailleur that will ship on cheap bikes seems completely daft. Joe-shmo is going to quit mountain biking after he smokes his first derailleur and doesn't want to pay up to replace it.

As a teen riding street I broke a chain on one of our night rides. As one would expect, none of us had tools. Found a brick, 2x4, and a chunk of concrete and bashed it back together as carefully as possible. Held for a month+

I recently performed a lowers service on my fork so I took the opportunity to clean and regrease my headset. I'm dropping into the first trail since the service and I immediately hear and feel a loud clunk and my entire front end feels like it gives way. After inspection I realized I installed the lower bearing upside down so...

Great question. This might be the best thread on Vital. I have so many to share, but a great one is showing up to a shuttle day with all my riding gear, a change of clothes, lunch, electrolyte drink mix, etc, but I forgot my bike. For everyone else that meant they got a designated full-time shuttle driver that day.

You are 110% correct. The lil company that could, for sure, but needed deeper pockets to really reach their limits. I'm just stoked they didn't succumb to the PE buyout that has plagued many an industry the last 20 odd years. Having someone with the smarts, passion, and especially capital to help both brands grow sounds like a game winner to me. (And not all us Yanks share in your sense of all of our overt 'patriotism'. A lof of us folx think that the more flags we see someone displaying the less likely they are to understand the depth...

On a forum somewhere... just go read the comments on the pink site LMAO. It's like today Canada died. And yes, as a local, Clint is a cool guy and generally respected. If WAO was on the ropes as we believe they were, this is a great partnership.
