3/15/2024 12:49pm If you want a shorter offset on your dual crown fork, you can always just flip the crowns backwards and re-install the stanchions (assuming your crowns have offset). I run a 56mm offset boxxer on my Spire with backwards crowns. This reduces the offset to 36mm. The turning radius is just enough to not notice. I also had to make sure my tire wouldn't hit the frame before bottom out since the reduced offset brings it closer to the down tube.

3/15/2024 12:43pm I just did my first ride on my wild geo Status 160 last night. After I rode it I thought “Damn. A Selva would be fucking sick on that thing.” Good timing. Now I just need probably $2,000

3/15/2024 12:41pm Not sure if this is the right place to share but here's a couple thoughts/rumors on random bike stuff after attending the Sedona bike fest 1. All the guys that brought their DJ and bmx bikes lost to a guy that was on a demo yeti sb135 for the bunny hop contest. It's the rider, not the bike. 2. Always wondered what gearbox bikes felt when you tried to shift underload - it doesn't shift! I was climbing a not very steep road to get back to the venue on a (demo)Zerode and was stuck in gear 4 all the...

3/7/2024 12:46pm I took Dale's bike for a lap yesterday to try the Mavens. He bled and massaged them and was running 200F/180R rotors. For reference, I run TRP DHR Evos with 200mm rotors on my own bike which I find slightly underpowered although they make up for it with excellent modulation and a light lever feel. My first thought riding the Mavens was that the power is insane. It felt like someone was throwing a stick in the spokes (not saying this is good or bad, just how it compares to my TRPs). My second thought was WHY IS THE LEVER...

3/6/2024 2:29pm I can't speak for others, but I think choosing a name for your brand that sounds like a department store rip-off of one of the world's strongest luxury/premium brands speaks to a breathtaking lack of creativity and strategy. It makes me think perhaps that sloppy attitude carries over into the decisions they make when designing their bikes. It certainly seems to carry over to their marketing strategy. Just have all the employees spam comment sections? I certainly haven't seen this when new bikes from other brands are released:

3/4/2024 1:59am In Northern California theyre everywhere. More than regular bikes. A majority of them are people riding them that could/should be riding a normal bike. We see the often 50+ year which is cool. But it makes me think “JFC” seeing more 20-30 year olds on them. They are most definitely not using at a training tool going stupid fast on climbs and not breaking a sweat.

2/29/2024 10:09pm Yup! If there was any benefit to using a different axle size they would have done it. People should listen to the inside line episode, its goes over all of those tech details, and they really tested every idea during the development process. Including the keyed stanchions, which they had basically assumed would be needed and turns out......you do not. Its super interesting!

2/29/2024 11:23am Why would you want anything different? If more front-end stiffness is what you want; a 20mm axle wouldn't really help with that. If they wanted to increase stiffness, they would have needed to go to a keyed axle to really tie the stanchions together. There's no point in just making the axle bigger in diameter. It would achieve nothing. The...
