11/8/2025 7:46am I’m 150lb and I have 2 setups with MTX red pads. One with Hayes + 200x1.95 rotors (Hayes D) and another with Formula Cura 4 with Formula Rotors (200x2.3 monolith). I find the Hayes are up to braking power in cold faster than the Formulas. The Formula seem to stay cooler on heavy consistent braking though. All that to say rotors width I believe may play a role in “warm up” and I like MTX reds.

11/8/2025 6:35am Fox Factory's Results and My Take --> https://jeffbrines.substack.com/p/fox-factory-q3-earnings-miss-expectat… TL;DR, results missed the mark, guidance lowered, and bikes & baseball bats were to blame. Stock trading down (~20%) this am. EDIT: Figured I'd drop a few more notes here since I have time. The big thing the market is hung-up on is forward looking guidance being lowered and 2026 commentary being cautious. Ultimately, their results are a reflection of everything we've been talking about in this thread through the year. While the industry will be just fine big picture, near term there aren't really any "growth opportunities", especially for a company...

11/8/2025 6:28am What would be a good set of brake pads that work better “cold” rather than needing to be warmed up after a few corners before they start preforming? I need to replace my Intend pads and while I thought they were ok I want something that hits operating temperature faster since my brake system has way more hear capacity than...

11/8/2025 6:21am To assume that riders that don't want size specific stays just "don't know what they prefer" or that Evil is "wrong" because they design frames with short chainstays on every size is pretty presumptuous of you. I would say Evil is just not for you. There are plenty of manufacturers that sell what you want. Conversely, many riders just want short stays period, even tall ones. I have bought 7 Evil bikes and those short stays are one of the main reasons. I prefer them even at almost 6'-2". I have bought both L or XL bikes depending on manufacturer...

11/6/2025 8:06am Sure, you can ride anything, I've had a great variety of bikes as well. I think everyone knows how to ride a short chainstay bike, elbows up, aggressively low, drive through your shoulders/hips in corners. The traditional riding position and technique. If that works best for you, play on. And you are correct that a f/r ratio is only one part of the puzzle, the rest of the geo fills out the picture. But it is a strong indicator.

11/6/2025 7:00am Went ahead and tried out the FF CR build with springdex thanks to SWS's recco. I got to say I am super impressed. It has better sensitivity off top even allowing me to go up in spring rate a bit. Its rebound is way better controlled and having a mid valve between the high and low speed comp really keeps the whole thing very composed and calm feeling everywhere.

11/5/2025 5:46pm Historically, we've always started with the Medium then scaled from there. I might be wrong on this, but I believe the new Offering began with the Large. I'm but a meager keyboard warrior for hire, so don't quote me on that.

11/5/2025 5:43pm Thanks for the note & we are happy to be here! To be completely honest, I think this question is better posed toward companies that refused to tread into Superboost territory in the first place. We don't need any convincing - we still believe in the benefits of Superboost, although at the end of the day, we are a business who's goal is to actually sell bikes. The market spoke loud & clear on this one, and Boost came out on top. At the end of the day, Superboost has inarguable benefits in both strength and clearance. The elephant in...

11/5/2025 5:42pm I used to have a nukeproof giga 297 in xl. It's dimensions and f/r ratio were almost identical in xl. It was a great bike, until I got a taste of that long chainstay front end grip, and then there's no going back. I'd be curious which size the f/r ratio was designed around ? It seemed common practice to do so with mediums in years past, and the ratio on the medium does look acceptable.

11/4/2025 6:42pm This is something that is very useful to know and I appreciate the companies that make it easy to access. A lot of people want to either upgrade the shock or bring over a high end damper they already own. So this makes it much easier to get that person set up properly if the bike company hasn't already supplied detailed settings and spring rates for that shock

11/4/2025 1:15pm Thanks & great question - it's a longer answer than we can reasonably sum up here, but we'll do our best. Your assessment is correct - an "agile" ride character has always been somewhat of a hallmark here at Evil. We try to walk the line between agile/fun, and stable/confident. Short stays make for fun wheelies & jumps, thus, we've always stayed on the shorter side. There's a great argument for size-specific chainstay lengths - that much, we do not debate. Our rear triangles are a relatively complex mold. Molds are quite expensive. Introducing another rear triangle mold increases total...

11/4/2025 1:14pm why do you think everyone should have the same length rear center but a size specific front center and do you believe every size rides exactly the same?

11/4/2025 1:14pm They fixed the seat tube angle! As a tall guy, I would finally consider an Evil! As for the pricing - please stop whining. This is pretty standard now, for better or worse. It’s less an an equivalent Santa Cruz. Go buy a YT.
