Looking at my hands, I have some large callouses in those areas. So part of it may just be more time on the bike. That said I am very picket about gloves. They have to almost be too small so they don’t bunch up at all. This leads to them blowing out at the finger tips quicker than they should but that’s the trade off. I use gloves that don’t have any padding in them as that tends to bunch and cause rubbing. Also I like larger grips. It means I have to close my fist less, which makes the...

2 things. So I used to use lock ons and tried slips on and I cant get back. Theyre muuuch better. I prefer the Renthal Kevlars personally. The other thing is backsweep and upsweep can make a huge difference. Renthal is one of the few companies with a 7° backsweep and if I go to 8° or more I get severe wrist pain and pain in my pink knuckle region. I just have hands that want to be pointing straight on. May need to try different setups.

I used to get this where my hand was rubbing on the outer lock ring. Switching to push on grips and grips with just the inner lock ring resolved the issue for me.

Zerode are launching a new frameset, looks like two travel variants, 160 and 140mm. Shadow and Shadow Trail. 450mm chainstays on the large too. Internal frame storage too. Curious what the kinematics are. Looks pretty cool imo! https://zerodebikes.com/products/shadow-origin Rob continues his streak of only launching bikes like a month or two after I buy something else...

Stop talking about Ford, with enough mentions the Ford sales team will find this thread and think we want more of the abominations. https://ford-bikes.com/collections/frontpage?srsltid=AfmBOopli28vcdxT2i…

Damn dude! I just looked this up and at first glance Ford was the homie for doing something other than maximizing shareholder profits but then I read the next paragraph of the Wikipedia and he was doing that, in part, to squeeze out the dodge bros from using their fordbux to make their competitor brand, so that seem like he’d be a god to the Brinance types oh so smart (usually psychopathic) but then I got very bored and realized that there are no winners in that one and Chevrolets have always been cooler than Fords and/or Dodges. My dad...

I’m not pro-Evil but dude this is like bringing up the Pinto as a reason not to get a new Ford. There may be plenty of relevant and current reasons but this isn’t one.

To me Enduro is the most interesting and all skills encompassing form of mtb racing. It's just that bike racing (other than Tour de France, which I love watching) as a whole is difficult to package and translate to the TV screen for the masses to enjoy.

I started a new thread to keep the conversation going around TPC’s without bogging down tech rumors. Discussions around metals are also welcome! Materials and Processes for Cyclists

we were talking on our ride last night about avinox, and a couple well placed industry friends was saying that there's a real feeling around that they're about to devour the industry and in particular (SRAM/Shimano/Bosch/etc) as a whole given how much engineering resourcing they're putting into the whole thing (Amflow, Avinox, etc). Granted I'm deaf in one year so hearing the fine points of a conversation at speed can be challenging, but they were saying they have a many many hundreds or thousands of engineers working on the motors, batteries, frames, complete bikes and all the brands playing me...

There is a little predicament in the Persian Gulf that that means the hunger for recycled plastic has skyrocketed. Ironically, the moron-in-chief is going to make electric cars, recycling and efficiency a lot more economically attractive in the land of freedumb.

Assuming you’re asking from a technological, not environmental standpoint . Can we technologically put TPC’s in the bin for the next 25 years? That’s a blade that cuts both ways. Unless high performance polymers like PEEK, PEKK, PAEK, PPS, etc come down significantly in price then TPC’s are probably not going to gain much more traction in our industry. But if we don’t work to develop them then there’s zero chance of them being adopted. Much like fossil fuels thermoset resins are so damn good at what they do replacing them is really hard.
