11/5/2021 3:58am i'd argue there is very little difference because strait WAS in the most viewed videos and media forms available during his time. he was as "visible" as jackson and was at the top of dirt jump, slope, slalom, freeride and world cup DH in his day. strait did it all and was shown in every way possible, no different than jackson today.

11/5/2021 3:58am While strait’s story is amazing and I don’t want to take anything away from his career. There is a big difference between doing well in certain events in the early days of free ride competition as a teen and having the most viewed video on the biggest mtb outlet be a video of you running around on a push bike. the entire mtb world has effectively watched Jackson grow up on a bike. His parents finding the right balance between shielding and growing his career is a major reason he’s in such a good position today. And there have definitely...

11/5/2021 3:57am yes! And it was their system for getting results as well. I remember that Harrison said that they were all on board with the idea that the one who had the pace at that track led the crew down. And they all had an understadning that that was the way to help the crew to unlock the challange of the track. As a teacher i must say that it is a real good system for achiving their goals. The group dynamics will help the individual, some will benefit from teaching and some will benefit form learing, but who will do...

11/5/2021 3:56am The old Intense trio, riding their fluo kits with a different style every race, if not even every session (?) was a sight to see. They usually did it in a train as well. It was SOOOOOOO obvious they were having fun at that time.

11/5/2021 3:54am I think Kyle Straight would take that title. He was shredding and getting photos in the mags as a baby faced kid and rode in the first rampage at 16. Jackson is awesome though and it is cool to see him progressing from balance bike to World Cup DH.

11/5/2021 3:54am That's aimed at Cannondale, not Intense. He had signed up to race DH for them in 2020 and they cancelled the program and pulled the rug out from under him after all the other opportunities had dried up. Wynn Masters got him a meeting with Barel and he made the switch to Enduro. He's definitely made a few comments about the equipment changes on the last year on Intense though. I read that as "kenda tyres suck", but I think it also made it hard for him that everything else changed too. Suspension, brakes and drivetrain. I don't think he...

11/5/2021 3:53am Jackson is pretty much mtb’s first child prodigy. There have been some incredible accomplishments by teenagers in the past. But as far as a kid coming up on modern bikes and having a universally developed brand that hasn’t been done before and Jackson’s father/family has a lot to do with that. If anyone is qualified to have a say on Jackson’s immediate future it is his family. And his family should absolutely be asking for jackson to be paid at a level very uncommon for someone his age. Cause that kid is going to sell bikes for a very long...

11/5/2021 3:52am I think that was in relation to a certain team who dissapeared off the planet, Not naming any names but the one with 2 shocks
From what I understand, that was a done deal and they pulled the rug out on him so to speak. That left Jack high and dry without a ride coming into the season. Thankfully Wynn Masters is such a good dude, put some feelers out there and things got moving with Fabien.

11/3/2021 8:47am He basically took Trek along with him to Miranda. I don't think you'd have to dig too far to find that Trek was probably pretty heavily involved with finding him that spot and making that deal happen. This is the shitty thing about rumours too. Jackson is one hell of a marketable guy, with huge social media presence and skills in two sides of our sport. He should be getting paid! He's also, what...16? 17? I would hope that his Dad is helping him out with major decisions! It sucks that turns into "buddy is asking for too much and...

11/3/2021 8:45am While I don’t think jack particularly vibed with the gwin run intense team, I’m pretty sure that was a dig at cannondale for allegedly commiting him to a dh team then dropping the program after the race season was over and it’s hard for someone of jack’s caliber to subsequently find a gig. Strangely worked out for everyone but moir joined canyon’s ews team cause flo leaving left a spot for a salaried rider, not because moir was itching for a new challenge. The fact the current ews champion had the choice between going essentially privateer or switching series certainly...

Saw these beauties outside of a condo in snowshoe last month. Looks to be a new habit, similar shapes to the new Jekyll and Scalpel released this year. I didn't notice it at the time but the new FSI is the other bike on the rack. Had to wait to upload cuz I forgot my vital password. Whoopsie.

10/23/2021 9:50pm Bryson Martin just published a photo of him with Ronnie Renner and Brian Lopes and Lopes was draped in Yamaha branding. I guess it makes sense, considering a lot of older guys now race e-bikes and Yamaha try pushing their e-bike brand, although I don't really just how big that is in the U.S. Mx

10/19/2021 7:25am Know these have been spotted already a few times, but I noticed in the latest PB rampage video that the proto hope levers were actually labeled tech4. not exactly a revelation but interesting either way.
