i'd argue there is very little difference because strait WAS in the most viewed videos and media forms available during his time. he was as "visible" as jackson and was at the top of dirt jump, slope, slalom, freeride and world cup DH in his day. strait did it all and was shown in every way possible, no different than jackson today.

While strait’s story is amazing and I don’t want to take anything away from his career. There is a big difference between doing well in certain events in the early days of free ride competition as a teen and having the most viewed video on the biggest mtb outlet be a video of you running around on a push bike. the entire mtb world has effectively watched Jackson grow up on a bike. The old Intense trio, riding their fluo kits with a different style every race, if not even every session (?) was a sight to see. They usually did it in a train as well. It was SOOOOOOO obvious they were having fun at that time.

I think Kyle Straight would take that title. He was shredding and getting photos in the mags as a baby faced kid and rode in the first rampage at 16. Jackson is awesome though and it is cool to see him progressing from balance bike to World Cup DH.

That's aimed at Cannondale, not Intense. He had signed up to race DH for them in 2020 and they cancelled the program and pulled the rug out from under him after all the other opportunities had dried up. Wynn Masters got him a meeting with Barel and he made the switch to Enduro. He's definitely made a few comments about the equipment changes on the last year on Intense though. Jackson is pretty much mtb’s first child prodigy. There have been some incredible accomplishments by teenagers in the past. But as far as a kid coming up on modern bikes and having a universally developed brand that hasn’t been done before and Jackson’s father/family has a lot to do with that. I think that was in relation to a certain team who dissapeared off the planet, Not naming any names but the one with 2 shocks

While I don’t think jack particularly vibed with the gwin run intense team, I’m pretty sure that was a dig at cannondale for allegedly commiting him to a dh team then dropping the program after the race season was over and it’s hard for someone of jack’s caliber to subsequently find a gig. Saw these beauties outside of a condo in snowshoe last month. Looks to be a new habit, similar shapes to the new Jekyll and Scalpel released this year. I didn't notice it at the time but the new FSI is the other bike on the rack. Had to wait to upload cuz I forgot my vital password. Whoopsie.

Bryson Martin just published a photo of him with Ronnie Renner and Brian Lopes and Lopes was draped in Yamaha branding. I guess it makes sense, considering a lot of older guys now race e-bikes and Yamaha try pushing their e-bike brand, although I don't really just how big that is in the U.S. Mx

Know these have been spotted already a few times, but I noticed in the latest PB rampage video that the proto hope levers were actually labeled tech4. not exactly a revelation but interesting either way.
