Keep in mind, YT was sold to a private equity firm in August. This is more likely the new owners trying to reduce costs so YT is in a better financial position to be resold at a future date.

Part of the reason DH bikes have shorter reaches than trail bikes is because of the long front center due to the longer axle to crown and slack HA. The more stretched out you are the harder it is to go over the bars but the less leverage you have to create a front wheel lift and rotate around the rear axle. The longer the front center, the harder it is as well to get that front wheel up. Of course there's more to it when you think about levers as geometry is a whole package with the BB drop...

I think Red Bull maintains relationships with people who are hard workers, at the top of their respective sports and most importantly, have great attitudes. If someone was deficient in any of those criteria, then I think there is a possibility Red Bull would want to separate from them. Just a guess…

It seems like redbull do a good job of taking care of their sponsored athletes health and wellness at least. They fly them into their rehab centers and seem to support them through the injury without dropping them. Gee and Brook McDonald both have had stories about their support. I know we see the cleaned up version but it must be worth it seems like they are signing mostly top level athletes
