I’m really of two minds on looking for who it could be. On the one hand, I want to know so that “justice” or “retribution” can be enacted, but on the other hand, I feel like doing the sleuthing to figure out who it was takes power away from Ares and that she should have the right to name the accused in her own time.

Interesting you frame it as total nepotism. When you could easily read the rule around how teams 15-20 might be selected as allowing the best races and teams that might provide the best support and care for riders access to the series. 15 teams selected on merit in a fairly objective way and 5 teams selected on a variety of criteria, that you'd hope is used to make sure teams that can provide healthy salaries for riders and staff and a safe environment for racers are selected. Hardline and all of the other events run by Red Bull have rider...

Poorly Made in China is a good read that touches on that as far as manufacturers making what is asked of them, wild variability among manufacturers, cultural influences on that, etc. People, mostly in the US it seems, like to yell about China but made in China doesn't automatically mean 'bad' or 'garbage' any more than made here in the US automatically means 'good' or 'quality'. There is definitely a range there then between rip-off, homage (if you feel have a more charitable mood), a riff, innovative thing with quality revolving around on who is making it, who actually designed...

For the most part us actual lewis owners are pretty stoked with what we've got. I can't recommend them enough, and I know plenty of others who feel the same. That being said I can't decide how to feel about the crank rip off, because people with the real 5devs aren't happy with them anyways (snapping)

Yeah. Like I said I wasn’t defending Lewis. Just attacking the other two. Trickstuff have a very expensive and good product but haven’t done any improvements for years (and years). 5Dev are also very expensive but their product is not that good (according to the grapevine) I don’t feel sorry for either of them being copied and along with Lewis, neither are on the list of things I have any desire to buy.

I'm not sure why anyone would be chomping at the bit so much that they HAD to be first on the order books to pay full price for a frame from a brand new company who: 1. has no reason to be instilled with consumer confidence or trust other than marketing and a solid spokesperson/owner (i.e. limited info out there on the bike, no reviews, no history of other platforms, no history of customer relations, etc); and 2. has no real bespoke or novel tech, particularly progressive geometry, or other reason to try this before everyone else other than "Look...

Tire rumors, brake rumors, and Rocky/Norco rumors back in effect. Been about six months since I've seen a Slayer though, lol. Do people still buy Canadian bikes?. I asked some local dealers about them during the Pandemic, and they said they stopped selling them because of bad frame tolerances, and crap warrantee support.
