I think we might be arguing across purposes on this thread as people are using torque and power interchangeably. You're absolutely correct that a longer lever will produce more torque. No argument, and this is one reason that I personally like longer cranks on my mountain bike, because I like being able to notch up tricky technical stuff at low RPM and the long cranks allow me to pick my way up things more methodically instead of spinning with abandon. He is the only good resource they have left. The rest is just press releases, advertorial content, or videos from youtube. But who cares, I just hopes he can keep racing and putting out good technical content (although the deleted Cathrovisons where the bee's knees because they where less refined IMO). There's clearly two different ways to answer the question: guts and numbers. Choices made by feeling, preference, or guts are always going to be vague, personal, and more interesting to discuss. JasBushey, I'm gonna push back a little on the "cone drills or ladders aren't worth my money" thing. The one-on-one Fluidride clinic I attended with Simon that drastically improved my pro downhill racing skills (I'd already attended one or two world cup races at this point) was largely cones on a gravel road.
