Only slightly related, but: Imagine for a moment how hard it must be for a former pro mtb racer to find a well-paying job outside the industry. I mean, even though some might have a bachelors degree or might be classically trained in a profession, most of them started training and racing full time when they were kids and haven't really done anything else since. All most of them ever did was ride their bike. As a result there's probably very few pro racers with any significant working experience or qualification that could help them land a well-paying job outside...

Yeah, right? We actually talked about that topic as a group, but it didn't make the final cut due to time. The Deviate was super impressive for all of us due to the suspension quality, either thanks to the design or the Ohlins components or both, but our two questions at the end were "Which bike would you buy" and "Which bike would you steal?" Unfortunately for the Deviate, we all agreed the XL size was too large for us to want to steal it, and the $10000 price was too high for us to buy it, so it didn't...

i don't disagree that the contractual thing could be the issue, but why are the trek riders allowed to race non-sponsor tires all year? kade is always on bontrager tires that aren't even blacked out yet there's a pirelli logo on his jersey. maybe there was an agreement with tires and not w/ kit. the helmet thing seems bonkers if it really came down to it. as said a few times, too, the red bull thing probably just complicated it all.

I think there are a lot of similarities to road bike fitting in terms of the very basic question "should you choose the bigger size or the smaller size in the same bike?" I think the two big numbers are height and inseam length, which together determine how much leg you have projecting up and back from the pedals and how much torso you have reaching forward and down to your handlebars, i.e. where do your hips end up above your bottom bracket and how far forward can you reach. But those two numbers don't tell the whole fitting story...

MSA had one of the highest number plates on the podium that I can remember! Really speaks to the depth of the field, and the magic of DH where if it clicks on the right day ​​​​​​for the right rider you can get an amazing result

I second a previous comment. Any ideas why Kade Edwards was apparently not allowed to race? Also, he confirmed on WynTV he will not race WCs anymore (might race a few rounds depending on the location).

In the new Wyn TV Greg said he still had a problem with a component on the bike that keeps failing. Does anyone knows what happened in his run? is it a flat.... again? maybe big man should run some inserts lol or maybe maxxis should do a goat side wall (if that's the issue)

I agree, the Whistler EWS always did a good job of livestreaming and hyping up the crowd for the last 10-20 riders on the final stage. It felt like a World Cup at the bottom. I also disagree with Spomer, because I think the constant change in venues was one of the best things about being an Enduro fan. In DH, all the athletes grouse about the same old track, year after year, but in Enduro it was always a curiosity for me where the next race would be- where even is Petzen and Jamnica, where's Loudenville, etc? I tuned...
