I am a huge fan of the E13 AT tires in the Mopo compound, but they stopped making their light casing option (1060g), which is my upper tire weight limit since I'm using Cushcore and going for long rides on my 38lbs bike. My stock is getting lower, so I'll be keeping a few bills aside for when they make the Grappler TR, hopefully for next summer 😁 Thanks for the review Jason!

I've only ever run an Assegai as a front tire, so speaking to front tire performance when leaned over, I think the Grappler does a better job holding traction and maintaining contact with the ground (not deflecting) due to the siping on the side lugs that the Assegai lacks. I've found the Assegai can start to wonder or get pulled in different directions if I'm riding through turns with rocks/roots/loose rocks, whereas the Grappler provides a more consistent feel.

Ive been riding both the enduro and DH casing Grappler Mopo tires for most of the summer. Can confirm these things are amazing. Tread design on point, casings are so incredibly supportive and Ive found the Mopo compound to work better and have much better wear characteristics than other brands soft compounds. Also, cant beat the pricing and availability!

12/7/2022 12:37pm Despite having huge respect for Gee and Rach (how could you not?!?!), I was never a huge fanboy. But something about those bikes and that team just has me really cheering for em and hoping they continue to crush!! Stoked to see they are keeping the band together.

It's getting ugly out there esp with Outside also controlling BRAIN. I've intentionally been trying to give Vital a lot more of my clicks and Outside entities a lot less.

considering the amount of electricity used to run my computer just to comment on the prices of yetis over the last couple days, i'm probably not the best one to ask about climate change. i did ride my bike to the dentist yesterday though.

Agree 100% here with this eval. Any smart company is going to price their bikes at what the competitive marketplace will allow. If you've got limited production capacity, and know you are going to sell 100% of production capacity (like has been occurring the past 2 years), why wouldn't you price that good at as high as possible which still allows you to sell through your capacity. Santa Cruz is doing the same thing (along with sneakily trickling UP their Carbon C frames into categories which used to have Carbon CC). YT started doing the same thing as they grew...

Yeti SB160 with Fox 38/X2 Factory, X1/XX1/GX AXS mix drivetrain (GX chain only GX part to be fair, but still), DT Swiss EX1700 aluminum wheelset $10,500USD Transition Spire (carbon) Fox/XT build, Fox 38/X2 Factory, XT drivetrain/brakes, DT Swiss EX1700 aluminum wheelset $7,000USD $3,500USD/42% price delta, when AXS is what a $600 upgrade? What am I missing here? Comical pricing. Edit: 50% more expensive than the Spire, math fail. Seriously though this pricing is a head scratcher.

It's in Australian Dollary'doo's correct. Yes, the pricing is insane and that's what things are selling for in Aus. Without going on a Primoz tangent here (sorry bro) The rich are getting richer and the middle class are sliding the other way here (as I'm sure it's the same in the States/UK/Etc. For every Pivot/Yeti/Santa Cruz sold, there will be 10 Norco's/Canyons/Commencals on the trails. A GOOD bike here used to be $4-5k and that would be Fox/XT that would serve you well, that same build is $10k+ now. But people will still pay $12-17k for a bike here without...

Yeah I had a plastic cup SRAM one on my old Reign and didn't have any issues with it. GFRP is plenty tough if done right and plastic cups would be better for slightly out of tolerance BBs and less likely to creak than an ali one. I'd still 1000% rather a BSA threaded BB though!

If it’s internal, all guided. No excuse if it’s carbon (Looking at you Pivot!) If it’s external, do something slick like GT’s Groove Tube or GG’s hatch. Though I’m not the biggest fan of the dropper entering the same side. Also, routing cables under the BB needs to stop. Like 10 years ago.
