12/30/2025 9:17pm I feel like everyone who's gotten on cube the last few years seems to have suffered performance wise. Sure Danny might have just been at that point in life as he'd been on it for 10 years at that point.and become a dad, but it seems every time someone coming off a hot one that signs for cube falls off a bit. Jess was the up and comer the year before she signed for cube, and sure she had a few injuries, but she seemed to struggle on the team a bit. Hoping she smashes it wherever she lands.

12/30/2025 9:04pm Biking will be a lot of fun in 2026. Side knobs will be scrubbed while riding Enduro because the spirit of Enduro will never die, like ACDC says, NEVER GONNA DIE!!! TV Enduro may fade away, but that won't stop us from riding up to ride down fast and hard on our backyard tracks, all of us, every single Vital mtb junkie. Long travel trail bikes will suddenly become cooler than ever because they are being discontinued and we all knew they were cool but we already have one and don't need another one just yet. Who cares about climbing...

12/30/2025 11:14am I think you're right on the 120-130mm bikes. I think bikes are going to divide into short travel bikes, ebikes, and DH bikes. Maybe not 2026 but at some point. And I bring this up because some folks don't know (literally a friend of mine was telling me how much they miss parmigiano reggiano but they haven't had it since...

12/30/2025 10:19am FWIW, my Modus operandi is to point the seat towards the bars. Then it's just a question of the relative height of one vs. the other.

12/30/2025 10:18am This was a thought I was having, too. He's not really made a splash at Pivot through juniors nor into elites so maybe a change of scenery would turn things for him a bit. He's had a lot of injuries which definitely doesn't help. I always thought he was a good rider and had good energy in all the Pivot-related...

12/29/2025 10:40pm I had a good day out on the XT/Maven's with redline likewater. No issues. No wandering bite. Just light level pull and absurdly strong brakes. I'll be sticking with this setup for the foreseeable future. Will be interesting to see how the long term reliability is, and how the bleed holds up.

12/29/2025 12:14pm 1) my Turner Nitrous. First HT since the early aughts and hoo boy has that changed! I moved to Missoula from ABQ last year and having a XC/trail hardtail has made the riding tons more fun and efficient. Have been getting more on: 2) longer rides. Nice to be feeling more in shape. 3) custom tune on my Fox 36. Much more supple. I don’t smash like I used to, and a lighter tune has made the riding tons more comfortable 4) Sedona. First trip there since the mid-aughts and hoo boy that has changed! So fun, and just enough...

12/29/2025 12:05pm I'd be super curious what that all means for "the industry." 5 immediate options come to mind: 1. Is Remy asking for an improved deal and DVO is saying they don't see his value? 2. Is Remy asking for an improved deal and DVO is saying they see his value but can't pay him what he's asking for? 3. Was...

12/28/2025 2:32pm Just a quick note about the SB120's Switch Infinity lube maintenance: It's a 20 minute job from standing inside my house and realizing it needs to be done to finishing up and putting the torque wrench away. That hasn't felt like too big of a timesuck every 100 hours. Plus, the bike feels sick. The Sixfinity looks to be super...

12/28/2025 8:06am I guess I was thinking of it from a "how much could a person can improve going from privateer to full team" thought experiment. ...but you're welcome to your thought process, too.

12/27/2025 2:53pm Agreed. She seems like a good rider and a good person to have at the races. It makes me curious of how she'd do if she were on a race team. I THINK last year she was just getting product support and not really on a race team of any sort. Her course previews for PB were pretty good, too!

12/24/2025 3:41pm 1) New Bike Day! These are awesome any year, but I don't buy bikes that often. (Last one was 2017.) I got a Commencal Meta V5 with Ohlins, TRP, Industry9 and Burgtec parts all over it, and it's been making me ride a lot! 2) Sedona in November. 3) New trails at Greer Ranch, near where I live. The trail angels have been active! Also, the much feared and ballyhooed homebuilder construction that was supposed to destroy most of the trails still hasn't come to pass. 4) Positive Mental Attitude. I regained some PMA last year and carried it through...
