7/8/2024 4:23am The wireless tear off system went haywire more than once so people went back to mechanical. I have a feeling it would work a lot better now w/ more compact batteries & advances in signal technology. I would 100% use a RollOff system that had a button/clicker on the bars.

7/8/2024 4:23am it looks like Dak's lines were going so much through giant puddles that he would struggle the whole way for clear vision. He pulled his tear off 69 times (well at least 6 times).. At the opposite, it looks like Armory had a way bigger mudguard and only pulled one tear off... I'm surprised nobody is using a wireless tear off. i remember Justin Leov using one this system many years ago..

6/14/2024 4:17pm And while they are at it, It'd be nice to do some real reporting work and ask the Discovery people about that most baffling decisión to not stream semis

6/14/2024 4:15pm It bafles me that there's supposed to be a few media guys at the event and yet every race we have to be guessing what happened. I mean, can't anyone offer an injury/crash report?

6/1/2024 10:14am Her line at the womens rampage event was insane. Felt like she was the only one to say give me a natural fucked up chute in my run. She's def the most 'free ride' of the women. Wonder if she just grew up riding natural stuff at home.

5/27/2024 3:16pm Dak’s run is a perfect example of why the 5 or more line spotters loic has is so important at this level.

5/27/2024 3:12pm Personally I don’t like the look of it. Got a beautiful welsh mountainside with this wierd and ugly giant rollin, jump, and landing built onto it. But I’m sure it will look pretty epic on camera and that’s what they are going for. And while hardline often gets called off for wind. With a wooden run in they should be able to hit it if it’s wet as will it roll just as fast. I have zero experience with features of this size but the lip looks like less of a problem than the transition from the rollin and the...

5/27/2024 3:12pm What i cant understand is why they dont protect the casing/face of the ramp with a big inflatable. That would reduce danger in big jumps testing

5/27/2024 3:09pm They knew they wouldn't have enough speed in the wet for it to be safe, so they shortened it so it could be ridden in all conditions. The outcome is you saw in the dry they were gapping to the flat pretty much on race runs. Dave's crash was bizarre. Nobody quite knows why he took so little speed into it. They actually cut the course short, where it finished was actually meant to be a huge sharkfin step down that got canned. You can see the banking in the finish area that was meant to be the sharkfin in...

5/27/2024 3:08pm Just watched Matt Jones vlog, they confirmed they are changing the take-off of the canyon gap, so that's something at least. Still insane none of these professional builders thought that was an OK lip in the first place.

5/27/2024 3:06pm Jim Monro: “…but somehow came away with just a concussion” That statement is not trivialising concussion!! Jim (the actual guy that crashed) is saying that he’s lucky it wasn’t worse! https://www.instagram.com/reel/C7cOn7gsV4X/?igsh=MXN6aTM3amNneXV5OQ== (link just for reference as it’s already posted in full previously)

5/27/2024 3:06pm @repackreminisces i'm all in favor of huge jumps. i thought hardline tasmania was rad. i think fest is rad. if they're going to make jumps out of scaffolding, they should be well designed jumps without punji sticks in the gap...no different than clearing logs and sticks outside of b-zones in a DH race. like i said in another post, i don't care what the jumps made out of..the "it's not natural" thing doesn't personally bother me much anymore considering ladders and built stunts have existed in MTB for 30 years or more. i'm really surprised that w/ scaffolding and the...

5/26/2024 5:56pm I feel like this statement is pretty whack. “i'm bummed this kind of spectacle is necessary to draw attention to DH racing”. You and all the old people saying rampage is to smooth hardline has to much scaffolding…. it’s not like it was in 2001… People are pushing limits. 90’ jumps are the norm for a pro… it’s not called puffy soft cloud line. It is hardline. It should have wild and weird features. I bet the boys there are stoked on getting to send some wild once in a lifetime stuff. I get it your a magazine editor, but...

5/26/2024 5:55pm i take back "the jump works" statement i made above. i had seen matt jones clip the other day (different angle). after watching bernard (one of the best jumpers on the planet?) and then jim's compression, clearly it's not a good jump. jim got pummeled. hope he's ok long-term. that was a severe hit to the head.
