Question: How many high end pedal/stem/handlebar companies can the industry really support? I think we've more than hit the point of absolute saturation there...

I'm shocked how many riders are on the best possible team. A stat I think would be interesting to go along with it would be best bang for the buck rider of the race. A quick look at the points looks like Gloria Scarsi at $50k and 120 points would be that pick this week. Edit after I made a spreadsheet... The best bang for the buck overall and Junior Men's was Daniel Parfitt at $200 per point earned. In Men's Elite Douglas Vieira at $263.16, Women's Elite Mikayla Parton at $300, and Junior Women is Heather Wilson at $417.

Thanks for the hard work on this! Was fun to try and work out the meta. I almost had it…I think it’s unfortunate that selecting the “best” team (highest pt potential) for this round couldn’t have any of the likely winners from Men’s or Women’s Elite selected to have a shot. Seems like you guys were open to making changes to the game based on how this round when. What are your thoughts now that you’ve seen it play out?

At least 2 free feeds could be found for the Elite finals. Seems just stoopid to pay for a jacked up stream. *uck Discovery and the UCI. Bring back Freecaster! USA racing looking good with Mega Rise Dak, Low Pro Luca, SoCal Austin, Muscly Maples, DHSE Newkirk, Transition Tilly, and of course Asa the Chosen One. Thanks for the Fantasy league Vital. Way better than that pink one.

The tourism industry in Bentonville has a large interest in keeping the trails coming. The people who live there (and many have moved there because of the outdoor scene) are invested in continuing keeping the trails coming. I don’t think at this point the Walton’s are a key to the industry there.

Check out Martin Whiteley’s interview bit on the Making up the Numbers Ft Bill podcast episode. Gives some indication of a big change for next year. He appears to be fairly confident there is strong consideration for the last chance qualifier approach and/or a “World Cup 2” addition. I’d consider him one of the most reliable sources in MTB so there must be some serious movement on WB’s side for it for him to make the statements he did. We can only hope it’ll get better somehow because the current format sure is messin’ with the vibe of the sport.

In botany terms, nuts are strictly a particular kind of dry fruit that has a single seed, a hard shell, and a protective husk. Sounds about right.
