Their enduro team was done last year but they graciously kept me on board for this year with my contract having another year on it. Sounds obvious of course, but the bike industry isn't always so giving. The DH team took me in and I had a blast all year long, which was the main reason for doing DH at the end of the year. I just wanted to hang out with the team some more, and who wouldn't take the chance to race World Cup DH while they can. As for next year, stay tuned.

How does everyone want to celebrate once we hit 1000 pages on the thread? I was thinking maybe we could all go to Chilis and share a Triple Dipper. lmk.

Either Ochain reduces feedback to my feet. Sidekick hub works well but maybe feels different in a way, not as soft feeling or vibration deadening. The rear hub rolls incredibly smooth/fast. Personally I didn’t like rimpact because the spring tension was too high and feels weird to pedal.

Active Vital forum member @jeff.brines did a good review of the Sidekick: https://youtu.be/qLQcnI8ftLY?si=gNZWz2pPEnWglsKR Id strongly recommend giving one a try. In addition to the pedal kickback benefits, the hub rolls incredibly fast (due to the pawls being retracted when not engaged) and is also near silent. For me, the riding experience improvement was the most notable thing Ive done to my bike since dropper posts became a thing. Near second is the Vorsprung Smashpot. Im less fit than I used to be but posting better DH times since I started using those two products.

Hey all, planning to get a chain device for a bike I'm finding has kickback as well as suspension interference. The bike is a 170/160 linkage driven single pivot, I ride both tech and fast flow trails. I'm happy to accept some dead zone at the beginning of the pedal stroke, but ideally this would be adjustable in some way...

Bracketing. Increase the size of glasses until the sales goes down, make glasses smaller, sell more.

Just to clarify, sliding bushings could be used on a RSU fork even with cast magnesium lowers. Yes, some technical challenges, but possible. Also for those not familiar with moto forks, the stanchions are almost completely filled with oil thus submerging the bushings in bath oil. The oil then fills the diametrical clearance between the running surface and bushing. Could be done in mtb forks, just need to consider the weight penalty.

Very interested to see the continuing development of the USD forks, since in addition to the fore-aft stiffness, bushing and seal lubrication, there's also later room for sliding upper bushings like the recent EXT USD dual crown, which just isn't possible on a RSU design. I haven't tried one yet for myself but looking forward to it!

Hey I'm back (with Rocky). I might post a bit less here as I navigate current state of the bike industry; I've got a mountain of work to get through after being away from it all for 5 months. Thanks for the well wishes.

Hi DWM, From an industry perspective, getting product out to media for early review is time intensive and not always doable based on product arrival dates. With the current Tariff disruptions making timing harder it might not have been something they could do? It's usually a good move to have reviews come out at your product launch date, since that...

I think it’s fair game to question Jesse. I’m no pro mountain biker but from my own professional experience I’d say it’s pretty uncommon to know exactly what kind of a deal the guy at the desk next to you is getting. That being said Jesse is a World Cup winner in the sport that we all love and frankly we’re lucky to have him here. Show the dude some respect

To be fair, it's also possible that competitively priced and highly specialized manufacturing will pop up in the U.S. at enormous scale with armies of knowledgable, specialized non-immigrant workers in the next month to save us from these high costs. That's all we need. Well, that and in-country raw material extraction for materials that often don't exist in our borders in the quantities we need, like bauxite, rubber, lithium, cobalt, rare earth elements, etc. But if we can figure out those two aspects in the next month we'll be fine.
