Hardline Tasmania Startlist - gives us some rumor fuel Jess Blewitt, was previously not allowed do Hardline when riding for Cube. Back at Hardline = off Cube for sure? Gwin, racing Hardline for the first time ever. Probably doing a full season of racing. Does this mean he's on a new team? Pivot, Frameworks? What other teams present at Hardline Tasmania could hire/afford Gwin? Or is Gwin Racing still racing? Kade, will he actually show up for Hardline and if so what bike/team will he be on? Is he still on Trek?

I don't think it correct to assume that "Supercar money" can not be made in the Bike Industry. You can make decent money in the bike industry, then reinvest that money in something that multiplies your wealth astronomically. We live in a crazy world, where you can make insane amount of money with speculation in no time, if you are smart and/or lucky. Now, that money may not directly come from the bike industry, but I would say he could have pulled off his wealth from smart investment of money that he originally made in the bike industry. I believe...

" You are very privelaged to be in your position whether you work hard or not." Might be one of the wildest statements I've read in awhile, and that's before the spelling... --- Chris, keep it going! Get everyone's side of the story, make some money while you're at it, and let the audience decipher the message. You (and all the other podcasts out there) are the platform, we are the interpreters, whether some of those interpreters like it or not. On a cohesive note, I think we can all agree that anyone who knows even the basic details of...

Thanks to those who've taken time to write kind words about Downtime. I was expecting to get some hate for this episode as there is definitely a lot of frustration out there on this topic and Markus appears to be a very polarising character. For what it's worth, I put in the time to understand the concerns of the MTB world as much as was possible from forums etc and I believe that all those key points were covered in this interview. I also took time to understand the mechanisms of Private Equity and just why growth is essential and...

I have a 13 year old MacBook that doesn’t need much work ever, but when it does, there is no question if they will fix it or not. The only thing that can’t happen now is updating the OS. You guys are being dramatic and honestly sound like what is wrong with so many bike shops. Treat people like people, each customer bike is unique, manage expectations, and actually try a bit to help someone out. Yes, don’t work on Chinese E bike motors, but to have a sign saying No bikes Older than 8 years? Insane. Who’s to say...

Your comment made me think. Will it still be Les Orres sponsoring that team now that Vali is going there? Seen as she has such a tight relationship and sponsorship with her home resort of Saalbach?

Interesting, thank you for the reply. Not that they are the paradigm of suspension companies by any means, but a quick glance shows that Fox offers 5-6 different stock base valve tunes (fully shimmed) for the DHX. Is a single base valve tune really the most effective and will provide the largest tuning range for a given shock, or is it more a means to cut product SKUs and cost? It looks like the SV8 only has two stock main piston tunes, A or B. Surely the range of tuning options could be broader with numerous main piston and base...

Usually a 0.07mm tool is enough but 0.10 is good for larger stanchion forks or anything with slight misalignment. It's still within acceptable tolerances for a sliding parts like that. If the 0.1 tool is hard to push through I would step back and start with a smaller one, you can actually peel the teflon lining off the backing metal if you get greedy. Which is why some of the massive tools (~0.15) on the market make me nervous - they will do some damage if they get forced! They also spring back a certain amount, depending on the difference...

Whoops, sorta forgot about this thread and forgot to respond to @Digit Bikes many moons ago. I digress. I start with a .07mm die head for my own forks because I am not aligning the bushings from one side to another as I am doing this. I am purely clearancing them to a given size. Because of this, I like to sorta sneak up on the clearance that works best as I have found a few fork chassis that are well aligned, but with tight bushings and a few that are not as tight, but not aligned well. I have...

Aston and Cahal have their quirks but calling them mediocre riders is complete BS. Both of those guys rip. Also 435 chainstay on a modern XL mtb is a joke IMO. Especially for a frame that costs $4k.

Vital article from a while back at the Chinese bike show this year. Chatted with my local shop in regards to WR1 and they aren’t doing frame replacements unless catastrophic failure. Frames are being sent to a company in Vancouver for carbon repair. Molds apparently are being sold to Sava Cycles and they will be flying the bikes under them and not WR1. Below pictured is the proto dh WR1 but now Sava will be bringing it to production in the distant future.
