Bikes are going to - over time - be priced higher and higher and higher and higher until ebikes and meatbikes (my favorite term for non-e-bikes) are almost the same price. What I find confusing about the new Stumpjumpers is they offer it in a coil version with a 27.5 wheel and they've corrected geo for the smaller wheel using the upper link just like with the previous Stumpjumper, which significantly reduces progression. So the most linear bike in the entire lineup comes with a coil.

I had a concussion earlier this year and I love the idea of a bike that's so linear they had to make a special air shock being sold with a coil in the top spec.

All my kryptotal's & Argotal's didnt have a wobble. I've returned 5+ maxxis that wobbled. In fairness I've Also had alot of maxxis that didnt wobble.

Mass confusion for the maxxis fanboys. Theyre wondering if they should meltdown at the mention of conti and schwalbe being better tires or start beating the drum that the new maxxis will be the best evvvarr. Rumour has it they may even have straight casings, no signature wobble

It seems like the new hot thing is to want steeper head tube angles. It seems like a counter culture thing but who knows lol. I guess I’m still living in the (recent) past. In highschool i rode a 2001 trek fuel that felt like it was actively trying to OTB and kill me. I still really like really slack trail bikes. Give me a 150mm bike with a 63° head tube angle and I’ll be happier than a pig in shit.

Have we reached a plateau in geometry now? Updates that are called huge = changes that are actually 1/2degree or 3-4mm different. Given how bad the 2nd hand market is right now who is going to take the hit upgrading their bike for very marginal differences. If you were in the market for a 150mm trail bike would take a V4 Bronson/Previous gen Stuntjumper for 30-40% off or pay full whack for a current one?
