4/21/2025 2:01pm Welcome to the wild and wonderful world of the bike industry, where you get worked to death and paid next to nothing, but there are literal piles of new and lightly used parts, even parts falling out the cracks of the building. What parts are you running? Whatever's in the pile. At least until you get laid off next week.

4/21/2025 12:29pm My name is Luis Arraiz, I am a frame design engineer and specialize in bicycle vehicle dynamics, kinematics and geometry design. I was the founder of K9 Industries Ltd in 2005 in the UK. I worked at CSG (now Pon) from 2015-2023 where I was responsible for the geometry, kinematics and packaging for all the full suspension bikes both analogue and e-bikes for both Cannondale and GT bikes and also several GT hardtails. I introduced the concept of size specific geometry and kinematics for Cannondale dubbed “Proportional Response”. I am now back to the UK, where I am a senior...

4/20/2025 8:43am That would be pretty ugly, but more importantly it wouldn’t work because the diaphragm sits there, right under the cover.

4/17/2025 4:23am Yes. We had a standard that did not require threads to be cut into either frames *or* the calipers themselves. Roach a thread and you don't need to repair a frame, replace a caliper, or bleed your brake line -- just replace a cheap aluminum adapter. And don't get me started on how many slightly different lengths of flat-mount brake bolts are out there because every different chainstay depth requires a different bolt. Flat-mount brakes: brought to you by the same minds that think thru-headset cable/hose routing is a perfectly fine idea.

4/14/2025 3:26pm It’s just a different brake, it won’t get like the other 2 mentioned and it doesn’t matter, on the trail when the bite point is all in they become super touchy and honestly hard to modulate

4/13/2025 1:19pm Is that Grice Crispy losing his rice krispies? 😀 I have been riding a USD fork for about a year now. The only time I notice the torsional twist is when climbing techy stuff and the front wheel gets offline/lodged between rocks. When trying to dislodge the wheel, the chassis twist is apparent compared to a traditional fork. Never an issue when moving at speed. However, it does feel different when hard on the front brake with good traction compared to a traditional fork. Not a bad or vague feeling, just different. Like there is more braking modulation & traction...
