VC and PE gobbling up companies really does lead to the "enshittening" of everything. However, some companies get new life breathed into them, but they are generally boring entities like white-collar gigs or a chain of barber shops... Like @Brian_Peterson said, they just don't understand this industry and had $s in their eyes during 21-22 looking at the bike industry. However, as much as I hate VC and PE, they know how to game the system and will most likely write-off Revel or any other company they lose or sell back, so they don't really lose much. The good news...

Not necessarily heavier. I switched from a tricked-out 36 to an Essentials, the Intend is super responsive and as active as any coil I rode before, and 600g lighter than the 36. It is relatively simple - both the damper and the spring aren't as sophisticated as the 36, but the chassis gives it so much performance boost that I...

The idea was to just focus on the single crown inverted fork as it seems to be a product that is growing beyond niche with Fox and Cane Creek both currently in development. Having said that; I've run the Lyrik, ZEB, and Fox 36 all at the same travel and all on the same bike as the Intend. As you noted, the Intend is just super supple at all times. I think some of this comes from how the chassis is tuned. It does not feel like a noodle in rock gardens by any means, but it seems to have...

I assume you have logged some miles on a regular fork as well. Are you able to give some insight to the pros and cons on the intend compared to a regular fork? For myself i just got the Intend Bandit fork on my bike now and have also been running: - a old but freshly served Fox 36 - a freshly served Zeb(With a Truetune token installed) The Intend feels like a space ship compared to the ordinary forks. Its something about the absent of friction on the Intend fork that just makes it work so well. Still need...

Sell it at peak COVID, buy it back for pennies on the dollar in peak tariffs. The only way to make money in the bike industry?

With Fox poised to enter the inverted fork market, it seems like a good time to dig into some of the current options. Intend Edge: Air sprung, simple sealed damper (LSC and Reb only), 3 volume spacers to play with as well as Intend's version of a second positive air chamber (Travelizer). I have had this fork for over a year and know it quite well. It is currently in need of a full tear down, which gives some time to get familiar with the other one. PUSH 9.1: Coil sprung, more complex damper, and an air bottom out system...

A slightly stiffer version of the compression tune Fluid Focus recommended was run, which was the 2nd from softest. I added an .8 x .006 shim to the C6 tune. Rebound started with the tune recommended for a 450-500# spring (using a 475#). It was topping out a bit so it was swapped to the 525-575# tune. Still tops out slightly, but it's more annoying than anything else. Similar to an Ohlins coil. The FF kit comes with a new mid valve piston and shims, a jet to change the size of the bleed through the piston bolt, and a...

I’d give 3 Same reason while even for a 170 fork I wouldn’t pick a 38 or a zeb, I don’t need 300 extra grams in there giving me nothing more than a 36 would especially being not too heavy or a racer going fast af

yes if you go from a 20mm hubs all of them can go down to 15mm with different end cap. But quite a few native 15mm front hub are not able to to go up to 20mm because they use smaller bearing either 17 or 18mm ID bearing like the recent One Up hubset.

How was the conversion handled? Could the adapters have some slack in how they interfaced with the lowers and the axle thus severely lowering the apparent stiffness? It's not just the diameter of the axle that is at play here. It's the thickness of it and how you anchor it in the lowers that also plays a big role.

3 test sessions, 18 runs, 9 hours, 1 roasted rear tire, and a few more dings in the rim. The results are finally in with the Fluid Focus tuned Marzocchi Bomber CR coming out on top in every session. All three shocks were ridden extensively prior to the timed runs, including multiple bracketing sessions to get the settings in a good place. The bracketing sessions were done purely based on feel, no timing or other analytics. Avalanche Racing Bomber CR (tuned by Avalanche) This shock felt good right away. It has a magic carpet type ride where chatter and trail...
