Copying the 5Dev cranks tells you everything you need to know about a company. All they care about is looks. The originals are a horrible engineering design. They should have copied Came Creek EEwings. But that would require some skilled welders and not just feeding a CNC machine. Innovation would be using ultra high strength steel from the automotive industry and make a tubular crank that uses the same axles as RF, Cannondale , FSA and all the others that use that same axle.

It's a matter of time when the good ol FAFO will catch up to them. So far it has been ethical issue but soon enough they will infringe a patent making it a legal issue. They might not care about that stuff in the country of origin but with them partnering with western companies, that is not going to sit well. I see they even copied the bearing arrangement of Outlier pedals 1:1 sigh..

We really, really need to bring the hammer down on this IP theft. Not only are they stealing ideas and patents from people who have spent good r&d money on developing their ideas, they haven't done the r&d, so there's far less understanding of the decisions that led to the original design. It's wholly unsafe and not to be mistaken for simply reverse engineering existing components. I don't understand why they can't just make new stuff???

It's blatantly obvious that Lewis just straight up copies prestigious products with the objective of selling them to people who love the looks/bling factor of the absolute high-end stuff but don't want to pay for it. The structural integrity of the design has nothing to do with it.

But will they actually bring the cost down? That has yet to be determined. Ultimately I understand a need for a business needing to survive, but we don't know if they were profitable, we don't know if this was done to save money on DT Swiss's end. From my perspective, the long lead times despite high prices were an indicator that the business was working. That press release didn't read like it was done for the benefit of the consumer or the former employees for that matter.

Dang! Was very close to biting the bullet and buying their brakes. A huge selling factor was "made in Germany"... And thats no longer the case it appears. I wonder if DT Swiss will bother to lower prices... Or will they just be pocketing all that extra margin from cheaper labor/operations/supply chains. Either way, not the best look DT Swiss. I wish the best luck to all the folks who lost their jobs because of corporate greed.

The pedals are from Fraezen, another german brand. Intend does have some pedals in development, similar to the OutlierMTB ones. I posted about it a few weeks back in this thread:

Don't you think this is more a function of compound instead of tread pattern? In my experience harder compound tires roll so much faster (on a smooth trail) than a softer compound of the same casing and tread pattern. Everything changes if we're talking about rolling speed on chunky, rough, or janky terrain. This is why I've gravitated toward a full-knob center tread rear tire with a harder compound DH casing for my do-everything bike.

Hard disagree. In my experience, going up 20mm in rotor size makes a consistent and noticeable difference, such that I plan on never messing with 200mm rotors ever again. 220 front and rear all the time for me, and I've even gone up to a 180mm rear on my road bike. I miiiiight pull a Brosnan and mess around with a smaller front rotor up front on my MTB if I go back to Mavens, just for funzies, but never on my rear brake. You can pry my 220mm rear rotor from my cold, dead, but definitely not arm-pumped hands.

Saw this on Pinkbike website Intends new ''OnePiece'' fork, Cornelius said on a video the pricing of this fork will be over €3000,-!!
