8/31/2022 10:57am I'm quite sure they won't update it so soon, given it already has received MX treatment whereas I think nomad 5 with its full 27 didnt rly sell. But this is just guessing.

8/31/2022 10:56am Wait ! Do you mean that wheels, like geo, should be proportional to your size ?!? Damn that's shocking I thought 29er was the solution for everyone, what should I believe ?! lol Maybe one day we will have bikes with proportional geos (including rear end), and proportional wheel size per bike size ... imagine ...

8/26/2022 12:00am Tallboy 5? Has Glovebox, different shade of blue than Megatower, not the new Hightower, and has a Float X and Factory 34 without bleeders on it?

8/24/2022 12:24am I don't understand why people hate on centerlock rotors or why you would only want them for road/XC... They are heavier, and in turn stiffer, which blows the XC case up. Cost really isn't a valid argument with how much you can spend on a 6 bolt rotor these days if you're so inclined. I've used them for several years now without issue so can someone explain to me why some people hate them so much? Also as someone already mentioned... that rotor looks craaaaazzzzy thick... it can't just be the picture perspective either.

8/24/2022 12:22am The fact that SRAM made a proprietary derailleur hanger that is also backwards compatible to be used as a “regular” hanger is admirable. These are the kinds of “new standards” I can get behind.

8/19/2022 1:09pm Is this a joke, or does nobody read backwards? The new Bell helmet has been discussed a lot in this thread. Not for sale yet but probably coming soon seeing as it's in the hands of athletes and reviewers. I'd expect a release in the autumn

8/18/2022 12:44pm There are literally hundreds of bike and component brands but probably less than 10 mainstream fullface helmet manufacturers and I bet every single person on this forum owns one of those 10. Add to that the fact that they don't get updated very often - the Bell Full 9 was released in 2012! I think it's pretty understandable that people get more excited about this than a new seat post collar that got released. Saying that I think the vital forum members are shit hot at catching new bike and component developments that are actually interesting. I doubt more than...

8/17/2022 1:44pm Back in the day, I was friends with a couple of guys that raced a few World Cups and World Champs representing the US. One of them told me they didn't wear a Skinsuit at the Fort William World Champs but wished he had. He said it was definitely about the straight line speed but he also said the crosswinds at the top of Fort William were so intense that he was getting blown off line, he said he was getting blown over just sanding on the side of the track to look at lines. He also said a few...

8/17/2022 1:44pm Yea, "aero doesnt matter in DH" .... but riders have their pajamas custom tailored to basically turn them into skin suits...... the big teams still do wind tunnel testing.... in-too-fast-to-pedal sections fast riders get into their "speed-tuck" position. But "aero doesn't matter". No one is claiming multiple second differences with small changes, but it's pretty silly to think that it can't account for fractions of seconds over a 4+ minute track with some wide-open, very fast 60kph sections.

8/17/2022 1:43pm Wind tunnel data would be interesting to see for DH riders. Considering how tight times can be, there are definitely gains to be made on sections of tracks. I'd love to be able to gain a tenth or two here and there on a section like the Leogang motorway to negate where I lost a tenth or two somewhere else where aero isn't an advantage. We've seen a few teams working on the aero-tuck positioning and surely they're working on their kit. What else aren't they talking about? Maybe Bruni's shock cover is also saving 1 watt?
The skin-suit...

8/17/2022 1:40pm Comparing aero on mountain bikes and road bikes isn't apples to apples, as was mentioned in the headset cable routing debacle of two months ago. Aero advatage on road is based on consistent speed and mostly consistent wind direction on smooth surfaces. Under about 40km/h the actual wattage gain is extremely small even for a larger tube and while they hit that speed at MSA, the trail conditions can completely negate those gains. That doesn't even take into account line or tire choice. Add in that the cover stresses and de-stresses as the suspension cycles, you wouldn't have a consistent...

8/4/2022 10:08pm Maybe I read your comment wrong, but I think the poster is just making note of the modular dropouts, and what appears to be an additional pivot, that’s different from what Forbidden has previously done…. This seems like the place to make note of that, but I’m not sure how the OP would know the geo details, etc, unless they are one of a handful of guys that have access to Forbiddens new, unreleased DH bike…

8/3/2022 10:41pm Apologies if this is old news... but on JGraves' latest IG story, it shows RR with a dpx2..? looking RAD shock. Genuinely shocked to see them riding anything but a high volume air shock in Whistler.
