Just a thought for the masses. With the direction of enduro racing, and the lack of barspins/x-ups among most of the trail crowd, is it reasonable to think we will see some dual crown forks aimed at trail use? As a bigger guy, I can absolutely feel a large difference in flex when comparing a single crown to a dual crown fork. I also feel bike weight is something we've sort of figured out. My race bike is somewhere between 31-33 pounds. An extra pound for a dual crown fork wouldn't matter one way or another, especially if performance is...

I agree. Value isn't there. But on paper this thing looks awesome...if I could justify it (which everyone knows I can't).

I am on the same page. You would think that MFG's as large as Specialized would be able to offer better values than small boutique builders but that is not the case. How much of what you would spend on say an S-build goes to support the massive amounts of dollars Spesh spends on teams and sponsorship?

The components on the non-S-Works builds are pretty disappointing and confusing. At the $6500 build, you get the base Fox Performance (not Elite) suspension, but carbon wheels?

Finally Specialized makes a bike that fits me! With a seat tube angle that won't put my butt over the rear axle. Wonder if I can test one here at Crankworx, walking to the pits now ...

oh boy, the derivative bike slam is getting old. i think we're 10 years past the point of bike design where everything is pretty much going to look like everything else. saw another post where the dude must've bike checked like 15 brands. ok dude, so you have awesome observational powers and memorized the entire Wikipedia page on Kinematics, wow.

That's a really good question. My assumption would be that both the brake and shift cable enter there and then diverge to their respective sides of the bike.

I always love this list at the end/beginning of the year, well done. The 'end' of plus made me laugh, it's absolutely losing some steam but I really don't think it's going to go away. I have never been a huge proponent but here in the rocky east coast mess it seems plus have a pretty big following for slow speed trails, big tires work well for some of the trails here...Seems like a very regional thing...

Exactly. Adjustable gel is great, especially the few bikes that change the suspension travel as well as hta, sta, and bb height.

For fox, they have 3 tiers of components:performance; which has lower end dampers and are cheaper. Then you have performance elite, which had the same damper as most factory tier products. Then you have factory, which is top end. The thing with the float x2 performance is that it has no adjustability compared to other shock. It has something like 8 clicks of rebound compared to the factory 29 clicks of rebound. It also has different calving, and the oil has a different compression ration. I have a giant reign advanced 1 with it, and it felt terrible. I upgraded...

The cheaper pricing is great, but I still don’t understand the components on most of the bikes. If you get x01 eagle, you get float x2 performance, which is terrible. To get x2 factory, you need to buy the build kit with xx1, which most can’t afford or don’t want because of durability isssues. They make great bikes, but they need to rethink the specs.
