I think the current format is pretty good, personally. my thought is a much more subtle change -- just get rid of 1-100 point scores entirely, and rank each rider against everyone else without a point score attached. Brendan would've been in first after his first run down, and the judges wouldn't need to score him artificially low to "leave room" for better scores later on. if the next guy throws down a better run, Brendan (and everyone else below him) would get bumped down a spot. from a spectator perspective, the point differential between the riders doesn't seem to...

We all know scoring ramps up as the contest progresses through the day. So why not delay showing the results until the end of ALL the first runs, and then ALL of the second runs. This way the judges can normalize and balance the scores as homogeneous units. They could even just show results once... at the end. If riders feel like they can do better with a second run, let them, but all scores come out in one big suspenseful moment at the end.

I love the SS setup on Andreu's bike, but Zink's got the best overall kit IMO. Colors remind me of the leathers that the flat-trackers wore during the On Any Sunday era. Plus his parts are pretty dialed, signature Onyx hubs FTW

9/27/2018 4:42pm The press release on PB says Rat will stay with SC Reserve wheels. Interesting that switching frames made sense but keeping the wheels is cool. If I were a frame sponsor I wouldn't want wheels with a Santa Cruz logo on my team riders' bikes. Whoever signed him must have been seriously motivated.

I know he has his own signature bar from Enve, but they offer a 50mm rise x 810mm wide M9 dh bar now. The higher rise would also preserve reach as the stem has to come back towards the rider is it gets raised up.

Looks like the top crown is too low and it's hitting the top tube. I'd add spacers under the crown and run a lower rise bar or stem (Renthal offer both) to keep bar height consistent. If they're concerned with that shortening the cockpit then go with a longer stem or an offset headset. Puzzle it!

8/24/2018 9:59am Something I keep forgetting to say....how crazy good is Martin Whitely as a scout? Angel looked the the one he missed, but nope. In the hunt, young, stylish....and poised to be another one to watch for years to come. Also Gee is a beast.
