1/23/2019 10:07am I wouldn’t write off the Kenda tires so quickly. The Polygon team has been racing on them without issue for two seasons, winning one World Cup and coming pretty close to double rainbows in Cairns.

1/23/2019 10:07am Noticed this too. I've gone through the same process, the long term pros/cons of carbon vs alloy bars has led me to run alloy on all my bikes. Same with cranks, weight savings aren't worth the reduction in durability and finish degradation over time.

1/23/2019 10:03am See my comment above. These ain't your old Kendas, they're actually a really good do-everything DH tire

1/23/2019 9:59am Im no pro, but I've been riding DH/going to Whistler for 15+ years and I can confirm that these are solid tires. Knob height is slightly shorter than Magic Mary, so they don't have the squirm on rock/hard pack and roll a bit faster. They're not huge, but have a great profile on a 25-27mm rim. Ran them with CushCore, never had more confidence riding the WBP, even in full wet conditions. Full gas into rock gardens, tons of cornering support, decent rolling for the amount of grip on tap. Rubber feels slightly firmer than MaxxGrip, so hopefully lifespan is...

1/19/2019 5:36pm might just be usual pre season testing. the m29 has one of the most progressive leverage curves out there and because of that an airshock might be the worse choice. gwin was running an airshock last couple seasons and now it’s time to get accustomed to the new bike. maybe back to coil.

1/19/2019 9:09am Jordi wouldn't be building Gwin's bike (obviously John would be handling those duties), but he would be on hand for initial suspension install/setup/sag check/etc. More interesting to me is if we could perhaps see Gwin switch from carbon bar and air shock to an alloy bar and coil shock! Racer boy turned Socal meat hucker!

Whoever commented about the reds clashing I have to agree. This is WC racing. Trek does custom paint on a lot of their consumer bikes anyway. Match the damn reds! EDIT; 5'9" on an XL!? wow.

Agreed on the paint. For a company who has typically used red as one of their main team colors its pretty half assed. Hell, just grab a black Boxxer and put red decals on it. At least that would properly match. Clashing tones of the same color, whether its paint/decals or anodized bits from different brands, are one of my big Virgo/German/perfectionist triggers. As far as the sizing, he did put the short cups in, so its only 4-5mm longer than a large. Also keep in mind that WC DH has little to do with riding DH at local races...

1/15/2019 10:28am Best (or worst) prediction for 2019: Athertons on Marin Xquare one clone with Trust the DH prototype fork, the ugliest bike the world has ever seen, Gee and Rach win all races by margins even Vali cant reach in junior women, the world burns.

1/15/2019 10:26am That is awesome. IMHO I think a company like Orange fits with his style and approach, it always seemed an uneasy relationship with the Canyon perfection machine.
