​It's all over. The 2018 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup Downhill season is complete. The 7th and final race of the calendar took place in La Bresse, France on a new track with a new winner emerging. Martin Maes, Enduro World Series competitor took his first-ever World Cup downhill win just a week after winning his second EWS in Whistler. Gee Atherton returned to form with a 2nd place, Brook Macdonald punished the course to 3rd and Amaury Pierron, despite a podium-chasing run, slid out, feet from the finish but was still officially awarded the overall title for his stellar performance in 2018. Rachel Atherton took a hard-fought win, also securing the overall victory for the 6th time, adding another history-making accomplishment to her long resume of World Cup victories.
