Air quality was junk today in SW Colorado and same for a few weeks this summer but in general we are quite nice! I’m bummed the event is cancelled as I was planning to race this to make use of my very ridiculously expensive USAC/UCI license.
Thanks Digby! Austin here… I cleared up what the Aaron Gwin joke is about on the podcast but I should do it here as well. Kasen made a joke on one of our first podcasts, saying that I said Aaron is washed up, just to ruffle some feathers. He said “just kidding, I’m just getting us views”. Then everyone on earth kept coming up to me giving me shit for thinking Gwin is washed up which really fueled Kasen’s fire to keep the joke going. None of us actually think that and we are all big fans. He has done...
SMH... I knew he was lying, I hope his mom sets him straight soon! P.S. Austin, I know you actually like Aaron after our conversations at Nationals and I will stop propagating the untruth from now on.
I enjoy the inside jokes, guys! I've listened to every one of these podcasts and enjoyed all but one part of them. It's just terrible how Austin has such negative views on Gwin; Aaron is a really cool guy and it's a shame that Austin is hating on his speed and success
Other than that, I love the show!
@thejake I'm aware this was the procedure up until a few years ago (2019?) since then they changed it. Read the first block of text on this exact page for the explanation on that one.
Dafuq?! Any high speed grassy flat turn is more spectacular to see than this,at least for me. Mountain biking race courses should represent what the sport is about, and this has nothing to do with downhill.
Who thought it was a good idea for the straight ramp step up take off to rounded landing? Not knowing the speed of entry I can’t truly judge, but it very much seems like a speed restricted feature. You’ll have to slow down, bunny hop to make a smooth transition on the landing, and then not pedal so as to...
Didn't we already go through this before with Rampage? Not sure who is asking for wood features on World Cup tracks but I'd be just as happy with a huge dirt double. Or maybe some whoops...
You can use the web browser, Opera, with it's built in VPN. I did it last year and the year before in Washington and Colorado, so it wasn't hindered by the internet provider either.
As always, the peanut gallery again looks like we have zero idea what we are talking about (because, we don't). Nuance, turns out, is everything. Thanks for taking the time to update us superfans, best of luck recovering. Keep your head up.
Hey Guys, another update. Austin was one of the first people I called after getting hurt. We're buddies and talk/ride together fairly regularly. I let him know what was up and wanted to confirm that he was staying in Europe for the next month like I thought he was. He's racing Maribor this weekend and isn't planning on coming back home until after the WC in Switzerland next month either way. That was good news as he's easily ready to go if I pull out. I also contacted USAC to make sure they get him everything he needs to compete...
Nice, since ChinaFlu my income has gone up in a massive way. MTN bikes on a whole (all bikes) have. BUT...a cyclist is paid to perform. If there is no stage it is hard to perform. If I were any MFG I would not pay for any riders to not ride. It is not the job of a company to be a philanthropist.
