adamdigby Added a comment about feature Vital's B Practice Podcast - Andorra World Cup Downhill

Another excellent listen, guys! Dakotah seems like quite the social butterfly in the pits, knowing a lot about a lot of riders! I really enjoyed his insights on Bruni's suspension. The big temperature and elevation swings that are common in the mountains can wreak havoc on air pressure and it's so easy to overlook.

This allows you to see how each individual bike responds to the change equipped as it would be delivered. Everyone already knows that grippier tires will offer more grip and faster rolling tires will roll faster. I think there are certainly applications where a control tire provides better information, but climb switch effectiveness on each bike doesn't need a control tire to test. And ultimately, I enjoyed the whole test without the control tires. Each of the bikes really had its own philosophy on frame design and equipment to tackle this kind of terrain, and it was fun to see...

Yeah, I appreciate how this test was done. The purpose was to see if lockouts helped or hurt on different bikes, not ‘which design climbs fastest’

That's why they show open vs closed of each bike which gives relative efficiency for each system... duh. I actually prefer this now over the "PB Method"

I would love to see how Aaron carry this form into the very very very different track of Snowshoe. His slip out entering the long right side hill was worth at least 1.5 seconds, he seemed to know what he’s capable of while sitting at the bottom and should be ready to rock! Also his post race interview was excellent, giving it up to to the other guys and much better than the “thank my team” interviews in moto. I want to see more high and dry courses on the circuit!

How bad does that suck to be Frixtalon qualifying 16th. He qualifies two spots faster than GM, but GM gets to start 26 minutes later in the day. For those who aren't familiar with the significance, in Elite or Pro racing, the later in the day on a dry mountain, the drier the course is. The grass, the roots...all of it. But then the biggest advantage is that the later you get to start, the cleaner the main race line is. Junior Women, Junior Men & Elite Women almost take varying lines on race day. But Elite Men burn in...

I will agree with others - I miss Sven, Boris, etc getting the interviews. That's the thing that kept me coming back. Loved those, and loved the color. Could just be a podcast honestly and skip all the photos (though I love the photos)... Oh well, something done and dusted I suppose...

I like seeing properly dry and loose rocky trails like the NORBA days, reminds me of Mammoth. I hope they tape the woods off wider and put poles every now and then in the lines that Neko rode; seemed incredibly one lined with lots of pointing and shooting. I'd assume the finish bridge will be different when the world cup...

How are they going to bring DH, XC, and the EWS to the same venue? The EWS calendar is all about remote or underutilized locations that change frequently. They have crazy turnover in venues on purpose, and often in locations with little to no uplift infrastructure. Whistler, Tweed Vallley, Chile, or maybe Vermont would work, but good luck running a World Cup downhill at Madeira, Finale, Loudenville, Olargues, or heaven forbid Northstar at Tahoe. Yeesh.

They are proposing the first and/or second DH race to be held in February as test event/s that are invite only. They also have conflicting info about the first round of the DH WC, saying April/May in one place and June in another. Why is the company that’s in charge of broadcasting starting next year including the rule change finalization date (September 2022) in their “Timeline & Milestones” column? I have a feeling it’s because the UCI will have major changes to the rules that will greatly strengthen the influence of the broadcaster and/or limit the ability of personal and...

3 US riders made it to the Live video feed for tomorrow, which is awesome. Neko landed his first finals start of the year. Pierron, Kerr & Vergier look like they messed up in the stumps from the splits. Poor Grice landing one spot out at 61st!

Did you have a pair that broke? Why are they garbage? Paul seems to really enjoy them and has run them for a few years. I was thinking of buying some for my first trail bike in several years that's arriving soon.

Internal routing was also a terrible idea, but that didn't stop the industry from adopting it. Unfortunately, wide spread adoption of bad ideas seems the norm now.
