I debated on publicly griping about the schedule change but decided I am pissed enough to do it. We got to send Bodie to Loudenvielle and Les Gets for his first elite World Cups on a petition spot and send Kasen along with him to film and put together a couple Rooted episodes. It was all super last minute, required work to be moved around and missed and cost a shit ton of money. We were stoked to pull together some sponsor help to get those two there. The earliest they could get there was the originally scheduled track walk...

It appears you can lose a lot of time on the last step up and turn by either casing or not attacking all the way through the line. I’m interested to see if anyone has a sneaky line getting right of the takeoff to cut the apex to the finish.

I have 2 very different sections of track, both of which will make my 223 galfer rotors completely fail and turn into Pringles in 30s from cold... Ridiculous. Also codes which might be the issue.

I just hope for more oil, and thicker pads/rotors so they continue to work 2 minutes in to steep tracks. I never had a problem with my 2010 Saint brakes with 203 rotors on 26” wheels when I was 40lb lighter. My current 29” wheels and non skeletal body don’t seem to pair so well to my 220 rotors and Code RSC brakes and they just sucked within a few turns racing DH at (very steep and brake intensive) Pajarito a couple months ago. I even bled them and put on new thick rotors and new pads for the event.

I don’t think it would help outside of very specific instances like Sam in 2008 which just don’t happen nowadays with how tracks are designed and the relatively even amount of training. If you’re on a really good run you basically can’t process anything other than what’s ahead of you...

9/1/2023 6:46am I can’t say for XC or recently, but back when I raced DH you were required to have placed in a decent position at sanctioned races to qualify for nats in age categories. In Pro all that was required is a UCI license.I went through the USAC rule book (horrendously organized by the way) and found this in Chapter 7...

The 'brakes are bad' discussion is music to my ears! Give me more power - I'm on 220s front and rear with some fancy Galfer pads and its just enough brake for me now. Also, I hope you aren't joking about the rotor size test. I'd love that.

When there is semi finals 31-60 get zero UCI points but because they canceled the semis those riders who would have got zero points because they did not make it to finals got points.
