5/11/2026 8:58pm GG had a terrible implementation of cable guides, the frame was too heavy for the short travel stuff, and a lot of us just wanted a metal bike from them. When value added brands try to go bougie upscale it often ends in tears.

4/8/2026 8:44pm It looks like State Bicycle of all places might have an option for the EC, and Niner has an ZS one as well (I think Pivot was using a similar option previously on bikes for the same reasons, but no idea if they are still available). I haven't used either, just found them via the Google. I was bummed that...

3/22/2026 9:55am I came here to share my disappointment of the lack of Rocky Mountain recommendations. Nice to see someone chime in. If we stick to the 120-140mm travel bracket, don't sleep on a 2022-2024 Element. Those bikes are far more capable that the travel number lets on and work well with 140mm fork options.

I'm happy with the code RSCs on my trail bike, but the current Sram brakes are out of the running for me since I run separate clamps for both shifter (XO1 axs, no transmission) and dropper lever. IIRC there isn't enough room between the reservoir and the bars to run a separate clamps.

8/1/2025 6:02pm Lenz is still very much active, at least according to their Facebook: I’ve always kinda wanted one of their FS SS models, but it doesn’t make any sense for me.

7/20/2025 9:20am What about damping? Or adjusting stiffness?? Loving the video on the page 😂 EDIT: whoa, lots of aliexpress special on those bikes. Fork and rims on the red one confirmed, probably cranks too.

6/15/2025 1:36pm The one thing I loved about my 29+ hardtail was the ability for it to just keep rolling. It carried so much speed it was ridiculous. Aggressive riding was not that bike's forte, which was fine. The thing that killed 27+ for me was that 29 just did everything better. Rolling speed, off-camber, precision... tech climbing was a bit of wash, but that still put 29 way ahead overall.

6/15/2025 1:36pm I love 29+, I've had 5 bikes set up that way, starting with an OG ECR 10+ years ago. My current #1 is a Stooge rolling on 29x3.25 and 29x3 rubber, and I've won a couple local taxes like that. It can be surprisingly fast, and if you're into building weird rigid bikes, it's a suspension cheat code. 27.5+...never got along with. Less roll over, no perceivable, to me, benefit with the smaller/lighter wheel. When I'm not on a weirdo bike, 29er all the way...I've been that way for 15 years

4/26/2025 7:21am can we please stay rumors in here?! i get that these discussions are fun, but also annoying to most who just want to read about new tech/rumors and don‘t want to scroll through pages of off-topic discussions regarding chainstay length/right amount of travel/dropper post insertion/ etc. thx guys!

4/21/2025 7:13pm As a guy who loves FS bikes and really wishes he could pedal SS full time, I’ve always been interested in SS FS bikes as well. It sounds like Devin over at Lenz Sport is still willing to build a MilkMoney SS FS frame, if time isn’t an issue. I’ve also heard varying reports of people saying they pedal great...

3/17/2025 11:06pm Hope this isn’t rubbing salt in a wound, but I have really loved that my both my 2022 and 2024 Elements (XLs.. one was metal, one carbon) would easily take a 240mm OneUp post. My saddle height is about 81cm from the BB and its not slammed down. At 6’2” with not the greatest bike skills I’ve always wanted as...

3/12/2025 8:54pm +1 I'd also like to know. The cables are solely for charging and you can absolutely do without them without sacrificing function? Or does the frame routed cable also serve as signal transport?

3/12/2025 8:54pm Oh word. So, could I forgo the extra cable inside the frame if I just pull out my dropper to charge it? Also if your not on an internal routed cable frame and your wires come out by your BB, do you have plans for a shorter charging cord. Overall this is pretty neat.

2/14/2025 4:30pm Massive wheels are fun as hell. My 29+ rigid Surly Krampus with ~30.5" outer tire diameter is just a stupid monster truck/klunker, I absolutely love it. I'm 6'2", was always on board for 29" wheels, and definitely would try a 32" XC bike. Obviously they're not going to work well for shorter folks, does that even need to be reiterated to the people getting up in arms about it?
