2/7/2025 12:11am So one reason why I'm hesistant to share breakages of bikes online is that stuff sticks around forever.....I worked for a Yeti dealer at that time when the "pre production" frames had thin chainstays which cracked very easily. But it was just that very small number of initial bikes, I think we sold 2 SB6's from the batch and yeah they broke but the dozens that followed were fine in that regard (not perfrect bikes but the chainstays were actually fixed). But that reputation definitely stuck with Yeti which is a shame since it was such a small number of...

11/1/2024 3:51pm It's live—US Open race coverage from the Gravity Co-op! As always, so much gratitude to everyone who puts these shows together. I can only imagine turning these around is a massive lift, but they play a huge role in growing #USDH. Enjoy everyone!

10/31/2024 4:38am Agreed. Dylan Maples is our latest example of a rider we might not see make it to the top with these future rules. He’s suddenly a top 20 rider, but that’s only because the system provides opportunity to break through. I’m with Spomer - good riddance to protected status. Seemed lame to me. It’s a means of making the rich richer. Fixed number plates and one uniform make a lot of sense for creating rider recognizability. When teams change uniforms alll the time, you’ve gotta be sharp to pick out who’s who. Making riders easy to recognize is good for...

10/31/2024 4:37am Some good, some bad, and a lot of question marks. The biggest unknown and worry for me is fast riders that are unknown or don’t get on one of the 20 ranked teams having a chance to prove their worth at WCs. Hopefully the combination of a continental series and national team selections will keep those who have the chops to race, racing.

10/31/2024 4:18am Ha. I also missed this. The irony is e-bikes are absolutely crushing PMG (parent). They contributed negative (~EUR100M)EBITDA last reporting period (if memory serves) while their motorcycle units were actually net positive on an EBITDA basis. I have no idea what they'll do with the e-bike unit, but they either need to completely retool on the product management front (I'm available - lol), divest in the unit or flat liquidate and shut it down. Selling subpar bikes into a highly discerning market isn't going to work, clearly.

10/31/2024 4:15am Hey biz thread subscribers, I met with Jeff about a month ago for an Inside Line to discuss the current state of things. It was a rad discussion. The podcast and its copy are below. Enjoy! I know I did. Thanks to Maxxis Tires | FOX | Jenson USA for supporting The Inside Line Today we're joined by Jeff Brines, a long-time mountain biker, Litter Mag and Vital MTB fan. He's also educated and versed in finance. He kicked off a forum thread on Vital MTB that asked " Will more companies be shutting down in the next 12-24 months?"...
