Looking into the tq hpr60 motor- found out theirs a weight limit. Anyone know of any folks successfully riding the motor over 300#s?
If you are that large, I'd so recommend a full power e-bike with an 800w battery. I'd also choose a really burly bike, like a Norco VLT or a Crestline. Not an Amflow or the like.
GL!
I test rode the HPR 50 on a trek slash+ and it felt pretty weak for me at 225 lbs. 300 lbs is 25% more weight and the motor only has 20% more torque.
Yea amflow’s stack height and no xxl no bueno for me
I’m not after much assist and the tq is appealing bc it’s supposed to be quiet.
Prob end up with a vala or a bullit
If you can wait till Spring, there will be a lot of new Avinox powered bikes hitting the market (if internet chatter is to be believed).
My eDruid arrived at the port right when Mango Mussolini shut the government down and then I broke my arm. If I didn't already pay and commit, I personally would wait till the next wave hits us.
There will probably be some decent sales in the coming months.
Agree with others regarding your weight — full power Bosch/Avinox with 800wh battery.
Oh yea?! Do tell what brands you’ve heard rumblings of? Bonus points for full 29.
Good luck with the arm!
+1 for the Bullet for Big guys. I’m 275 and just got a XXL. Power is good, rides great. Riding with a guy that’s 100 pounds lighter on same motor and battery starting at 100% charge. We were pretty close on battery usage. I was lower of course but closer than I would have thought.
Coming of a Fazua Relay that was not enough, this is way better for only a few pounds difference.
It might have been this forum (I can’t keep track), but it was Orbea, Norco, and another that I forgot.
Commencal already announced theirs.
I’m going to the shop to pickup my eDruid in a few hours. I’ll see what info I can get. The eDreadnaught is already known.
Awesome to hear thank you!
Do you find the bullits motor loud or any rattles?
No problemo. Noise isn’t bad, typical gear whine. I suppose that might get better when broken in. Soon as I started into a trail, tires and other bike noises were louder.
No nocking or rattles but only two rides in so far.
Honestly I'm also a big boy (290) and I have the new norco sight, and i'm thinking when more some better tq (580w/h) enduro bikes come out I might swap over. The power in the bosch is cool but it's pretty far in descending feel from my analog bike.
Ya that’s the appeal with the tq system- I’d love to try to give a rip on an MTE or the fuel+.
I just want a little help and to keep the ride feel of my trail bike (Hightower).
Norco seems to have dropped the new Range VLT CX with zero fanfare, I assume based on the geo that's it's the same frame as the Sight with more shock stroke and a bigger fork.
That was their MO with the last gen frame. Fluid, Sight and Range all shared the same frames just with different rocker, shock and fork combo's. Seems like a win on the manufacturing front.
I don’t even think they changed the rocker haha, it’s only got 160mm
Interesting/annoying spec choices though - mavens on the “all mountain” sight and shimano on the “enduro” range? Lame.
Also, I’m am a transmission (and wireless in general) hater when it comes to meat powered bikes, but damn if i wouldn’t rather have it on my eeb.
Yeah. It's just a long-stroked sight. I don't know why they didn't make this a 180/180, dual crown compatible, to create more separation between the bikes. I bought the C2 sight when it first came out and put a 38 and a coil on it. Maybe just call it a Sight LT.
They are pushing the product a lot, a lot…
Idk what brands exactly but I’ve been told that a lot of brands will do additional Bikes with the Avinox system, because apparently they offer relatively low moq for attractive conditions. Not to mention the hype. Nobrainer
I think it’s great to have them spread. Even though I struggle to sympathise with the company. But It puts the competition under pressure, because the Avinox system seems to be very refined and user oriented.
Did you boost the travel when you got new suspension? Did you feel like it lost any of the snappiness that people love about the stock version?
I'm light an I'm overpowered with my levo gen3. But I was hesitant if the fazua would be strong enough plus the reliability and rattling issues.
I want my next bike to be lighter to get a more analoge feel but it's questionable if it will be possible to go much lighter with a quickly removable battery.
I'm 6'2 and 260lbs and I've had Yamaha, Shimano, Bafang and Fazua bikes. I have found them all to be adequate motors. I currently ride the Fazua bike and love it because its a BURLY build but only weighs 46lbs (which is 10lbs or 20% lighter than my full powered ebike). Riding by myself I have no problems and even riding with full powered guys I can keep up but I'm breathing heavy enough I can't hold a conversation (also I really only ride in river - "blue"- mode, if I turn to rocket -"purple/pink" I could keep up easily).
I wouldn't let motors bother you as long as you don't mind putting in the work.
Thank you!
It seems as if most folks want their ebike to do all the work.
I just want a little bit of help. I already ride my Hightower on my local loops at about 6.5 mph for an average ride- 1200ft climbing over 8-9 miles. I really just want to be a couple mphs faster and maybe even do a second loop. I don’t want to lose that feel of an analog bike.
Vala vs mte vs fuel + is where I’m at
Yes, lose weight, I know. I’ve cut 60#s since last September and slowly slimming down with weight training and cardio.
I kept the travel the same for those exact reasons. I like how the bike handles with the stock numbers and didn't want to mess with it. Also, the trails I ride don't really demand it. Good to know I can bump it up though.
Have there been/are there any legit 200mm+ emtbs?
There have been a few I think from rotwild, haibike, Nicolai, fantic and a few other obscure brands

Nice bike, chunky Bosch 800wh isn't looking too bad on this bike. While it's still being expensive, the price is competitive and much more attractive than some other models in the enduro category.
However, no Kiox 400C & 180mm rear rotor, really Norco ?

The Terra is a rad bike. Hardly looks like an ebike with the slim 56mm downtube.
I scrolled past in on insta thinking it was a gearbox. Looks like my Kavenz G2.
