the audacity to call people keyboard warriors is wild lmao. YT literally FUCKED OVER countless people but sure, call us keyboard warriors.
There have been a few almost losses the last two years who at least tried or were open about what was happening, and come back swinging...
There have been a few almost losses the last two years who at least tried or were open about what was happening, and come back swinging like Rocky, Kona, Nukeproof. They have all come back in someway and people celebrated them coming back because of the way they handled it. Revel as well, although they were a bit tougher with customer support.
Then there are YT and Pole. If two brands stayed dead because of the way they handled their customers and riders very publicly, I don't think a lot of people who cry about it.
YT found a buyer (founder) who could afford to buy back the company.
Pole found no buyer/investor for the complete company , so due to bankruptcy legislation all was sold off. Leo could afford the IP and brand name, so bought that.
Same would’ve happened to Rocky, Kona etc, if the buyers couldn’t afford to reinvest (or find backers who could.

I don’t know how German bankruptcy works at all. But in America I thought it wasn’t possible to do what Marcus did. Like you can’t magically absolve your debts by selling your company to yourself. And while there are definitely examples of people buying their ip rights and starting over. I can’t thing of an example where a person was able to buy back everything and restart without still owing what they owed.
perhaps someone else can correct me on all accounts. But it seems incredibly fishy. And I really hate to put fish in the same category as Marcus.

He didn't really absolve all the debts. He bought back the company, which he was not a major owner of anymore due to the prior sale, and the administrators accepted his offer as the best. They reviewed and agreed that his offer would provide creditors adequate compensation out of all the offers available. It just so happened that the CEO was the one to buy it with his own money/financing. It would also be legal in the US.
What he did as CEO before insolvency was also legal, in that he ran a sale to get cash ostensibly to save the businesses. Legally YT had no responsibility to tell buyers that if they didn't sell enough they would probably go out of business and leave them hanging with no bikes or refunds. It's unethical and shitty, but not illegal.
I certainly wasn't at all optimistic for Nukeproof's future when I heard that Mike Ashley of all people bought CR/Wiggle. It's good to see it back...

Anyway, back on track....
Dak and Blewitt to Scott. Sorry for lack of puns and cryptic doodles.
Interesting if true.....you gotta good source?
I think while a team with Coulange, Dak, Blewitt and whoever else is good, the dynamic might be off? Need some good vibes and a gelled staff and riders, just look at how good Canyon have done this year, looks from the outside at least the vibes are in the right place

I heard something from someone, that's all you're getting!
That Queenstown insta pic with the eagle and the coffee already had my suspicions aroused as to which kiwi they were signing up (focus more on the fern shaped barista art than the cup)
More French based team rumours:
One Commencal team with a strong record for growing major talent is changing brands.
Lapierre Gravity is no more, so once again a young rider changed discipline from enduro to get a ride.

Commencal Les Orres to turn into Commencal Saalbach? Would check out if Vali joins.
He's looking for a new sport, really. How many fully-salaried Enduro racers are there left?
TBF he's one of only a few enduro athletes that could be making a good living. His SM presence brings a pretty solid amount of business to whatever sponsor he's got, even if he's not outright winning races week in week out.
I believe Moir can definitely be a valuable asset for a brand, even if enduro is on the decline. I'm not big into bike YouTube, but I like to watch guys like Wyn, MoiMoi and Sam Pilgrim cause there is always stoke and the commentary is fun—I don't care for the faffing around that some other content creators put out. I think they're good for their brands.
Sad update, knowing its not sorted yet (and how messy the end obviously would have been). Would love for him to do a random enduro+DH program akin to Rude and Melamed's end of season but... Understand how impractical that is. Especially traveling from where he is.
But glad he's been restin up and getting some paddle outs. No better place to reset the mind then waiting on Poseidon to send you a set...
Has anyone dug into this supposed November deadline for team signings? I assume even if the UCI wants teams by then, that doesn’t necessarily mean the public will get the same info.
a TM i talked to a month or so ago was not stoked on having to have teams locked and announced so quickly. implied others felt the same. releasing so early means bikes, uniforms, etc may not be ready for announcements among other hurdles that would cripple marketing (like syndicate getting kolb done at MSA?). sounds plausible that teams convinced authorities to adjust the public timeline.
Hope he lands on his feet, he is a fantastic ambassador for the sport to the kids of Australia and in all my dealings with him over the years one of the nicest blokes you will ever meet. What you see in the videos is him in reality, a true legend.

Hah, Jason Bargwanna mentioned.
And of course the race jerseys are already sold out... TBH he could probably have got away with more than AU$150 apiece.

Yeah. He has great content and personality. It really is a shame that no one has figured-out how to cover enduro in an interesting way. Most gravity bikes sold are enduro bikes, and, I'd guess that on a local level, enduro racing is still popular. But translating World Cup Enduro to a television audience has just never been done well.
I think my initial comment about "looking for a sport" may have sounded unkind. It wasn't meant to be--really just a sad reaction to what seems like the slow death of what really is a great sport. I got to do a bunch of Enduros, and frankly, loved the format. I never met Mr. Moir, but I have really enjoyed watching his wild riding style and great online personality for the last decade. Watching that last post just now, really made me feel for the guy. He's always been all-in.
Wishing Jack Moir the best luck this year and in all future endeavors!

FWIW, I can still see 2 2025-WC, 2 2024-WC and 1 2023-WC jerseys available on his website. Shipping rate might be a bit steep for EU, but that's fair giving how many times AU/NZ customers/riders have to pay huge rates for US/EU goods/travels.
I'm still wondering if my WAF is high enough for this kind of purchase... 😆

Gwin on crestline still

Tyler Waite off Yeti
If Waite is off Yeti then Yeti have problems. Jonty did great last season but Cami and Tyler were the consistent performers.
Will yeti replace Waite?
Jack Moir confirms he’s off YY and still looking for a new team.
