Lmao I heard that too, but wasn't sure if my ears were working properly.
Man...not Camille too!! She was on my fantasy team, RIP.
Vali Höll managed to walk her bike to the finish line in time to take 14th place today. She wins the Overall, followed by Hemstreet, Seagrave, Hoffmann, and Cabirou.
Side note: Marine's second MSA win in a row gave her 250 points on the day and she ended only 2 points behind Hoffmann in the Overall.
Aged well that
For the love of god get Ronan off e13. Those rims have cost him 3 races this year.
ROFL if Bruni left to go see his baby...I had him on my team FML
Where is Bruni?????
Announcer said he crashed on his last practice run this morning?
Kolb on the podium in spite of the background drama is awesome too
Happy for Dak in 4th! He's been climbing up the results and clawing his way back from injury
Bruni walked away from the start ?? !!
Well, I guess Loic has a bit of 'splainin' to do... Even if his crash in practice left him unable to race at a high enough level to win the overall, maybe he could have at least ridden slowly down the track so he could congratulate Jackson down at the finish arena.
I'm bewildered.
Apparently so
Goldstone did what he had to do but that was the most unsatisfying ending since st elsewhere.
I didn’t believe it until stoney bro started disassembling the gate (wand first, of course).

just 5.99, doesnt get any cheaper nor easier?!
I have the bluest balls ever. I’m speechless.
That’s not a bad point.
I’d bet he had zero intentions of dropping in at all, but knew that his presence up there could force Goldstone into a crash.
Kolb just mentioned in the post race interview that he heard bruni may have broken something
If you dont feel good and you sit 2nd overall, there is no explaining needed and definitely no need to cruise down. Dude is ultimate Pro and knows the game best to calculate what is worth it or isnt.
Bruni no-showed for the overall podium awards too
Unexpected finish to the season! Quite a few DNFs and DNSs, morning crashes, and a few other curveballs.
It ain’t easy in the CH
In that case he should've withdrawn earlier
Why? Assumption is he was waiting to see what Goldstone did. If he had crashed, Bruni could have taken an easy run and likely gotten the overall.
I don't think pulling an Irish Exit on the biggest race of the year is indicative of being "the ultimate pro." I'm hoping he has a really good explanation for what happened.
Yeah, my thoughts exactly. You have the advantage by being the last man down the hill, might as well use it to the fullest extent.
Gutted we didn't get to see what Loic could do, but my guess is that he's quite hurt. I just don't see him being that petty.
Alright, Barstool style take here...feels like Bruni might be crashing out here (as the kids say). I totally get pulling out of a race after a big crash. But if you’re good enough to get to the top of the track and think about dropping in, its safe to presume you’re probably good enough to show up for awards. Hell, do a half-speed lap, wave to the crowd, shake Jackson’s hand...call it an (almost) victory lap.
I know , easy for me to say from the couch, and sure, maybe something more serious was going on (delayed concussion symptoms). But if it’s just that he was banged up and sulking? That’s weak.
Really interested to hear whats what. Wild stuff.
It sounds like his leg was so goosed he couldn't even do a warm up, but was just up there to keep the pressure on Goldstone.
It was a letdown having the defining moment of the season being some random guy in the start hut, but I don't really begrudge Bruni that.
If I'd smoked my leg in practice on the most consequential day of the season, saw the other guy do an incredible run and knew there was nothing to ride for, I'd probably just dip out too.
Trying to roll down MSA with an injured leg while being devastated that the overall title you've worked hard to achieve is gone doesn't really sound worth it to me.
That being said - no-show for the overall podium is a weird move. I'm sure he's hurting mentally and physically, but that is odd.
If there's truth to the injury rumor, I definitely get the 'wait and see' approach and agree with the mental pressure aspect of him just being present up top. It's also possible he may have skipped awards because he was seeking medical attention (just speculation if the injury rumor is true)
