that sucks! if i were kolb, vali or oisin and was gonna cross the line in the green, i'd honk on the brakes and just sit there, never crossing the line. (but i'm obviously petty).

such a bummer for all of them.

Just watched the video, apparently team manager Gunnar is paying a lot of things out of his pocket despite absolutely not having to, now that is dedication and what a legend of a man. But in the end he also says all of the riders contracts have been/will be terminated so they are/will be free agents

just saw the video too.  i think its cool that they have decided to finish out the season as a team.  it does sound like YT is actually insolvent (i posted that question to one of the PB editors on their article), and the riders are actively looking for new teams for next season.

Could the fact that Oisin bought the shirt with his own money a few hours before the final mean any future relationship with TLD? Any team wearing Troy Lee clothes?

I wouldn't read too much into it.  This late in the season the shop at the bike park probably isn't gonna be getting much new inventory, if any (many parks are winding down summer ops and prepping for winter, I would assume that's the case for lenzerheide). It might have been one of the few options left in his size.

If I was in charge of athlete management at TLD, I’d be STOKED he did that.

if you were in the bikeshop at the mountain and they had a whole bunch of jerseys, I think 70% of people would go for the TLD, and 100% of people who have ridden moto would go for TLD. It's the go to clothing IMO.

I cant afford it, but it's nice lol

Suck about the burned points. Sounds like a ride or die thing; I bet the team has already paid entrance fees to the WCs so the riders are just running out the spares and frames they have.

Still hoping for a crazy fever dream where a riders signs with a new team right after Monte Saint Anne to harvest the points.

Crazy the point turn to dust.  If I team goes out those points should go with the rider so at least new team.  I get the teams wanted to keep the points and that rule is there but if team disappears like this there should be some sort of plan b for the riders.  It would make them a lil more valuable in trying to find new ride.  Obviously Vali will have little trouble finding a new team.  I don’t think Oisin or Kolb have much issues finding new teams seeing both are around top ten inUCI points.  Kasper could have a hard time finding a new team.  Enduro guys, is anyone really looking for enduro riders?

Seems like the UCI didn't think very hard about the possible scenarios during the rule change.

He's been wearing TLD helmets and gloves for the last few years, so may already have some for of support from them.

no idea what relation she has to velocio, but having sweet protection as a partner already i'd assume it would be a good call for all parties to hop on sweet protection. 🤷

My thoughts too. I'd have him a proper Irish sleeved version delivered asap.

Velocio = Sram owned. So most likely came through that channel.

Velocio is part of Sram/RS. Sweet Protection currently doesn't offer any mtb clothing as far as i know...

Velocio was acquired by SRAM March 3rd, 2022. Vali has a long time sponsorship with SRAM.

Velocio's history with SRAM goes back to 2015 when they shared sponsorship of the UCI pro cycling team Velocio-SRAM, and it continued until they approached SRAM to see if they wanted to buy the brand which they did so.

if yeti is gonna push more back into DH next season this would help them from a points perspective in '27

Oisin said in the PB interview that he bought the jersey and pants at the bike park out of pocket because it's what he feels comfortable and good about.

After watching that PD interview, it's a bummer that the YT team points will be burned. Seems like they are just riding out the dead carcass of a functional org and doing the best they can. I'm guessing WC entry fees and US/Canadian visas are all tired to YT so it's not like the "team" has disbanded - Its just coasting along on momentum.

Vali you know will be fine, Andy seemed to say things will be fine next year. Hope Oisin lands well.

I feel so much hate towards YT, I understand the people is upset, but I think that not riding with the YT jerseys is too much, these riders are professionals and they have to work for their image too, not only these last races, their entire carrier, no brand in the industry is save at this time, so what just happened to YT can happen to a lot of brands at this point, and if you are a brand/team manager and the YT Mob riders are in your mind for next year, who looks more professional, Andy riding with the YT clothing or Oshin (being a “revel”) riding with what ever else.  Is not like YT has taken their frames?  We are talking about a company that before they went broke spoiled them as much as they could.   Is not like they are firing them to bring new riders without a noticed.

When you are paying your own way to the races and supporting yourself why would you promote a brand not helping you?
They are still riding that frame. How did YT spoil them? By paying them a salary?  Kolb said in the interview that he had higher paying offers and went on YT for the long term. That didn’t happen so why promote them?
