Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew
Who’s insta are you finding this on?
Was responding to your zeb comments on ig too haha, I follow a lot of the forbidden sponsored riders and staff, always little sneak peaks in some of their posts, not sure if intentional or not haha
Oh that was you on insta haha. You’re everywhere.
Hasn't been any DH bikes on Norco's website for a while now. Is there any rumors?
Both colorways have been posted here multiple times
Yes, but these are the first photos of the red/orange one in the wild. It was only renders of that one previously.
Not a rumour but I spotted this outside the Marks Work Warehouse in Squamish last week. I haven’t been following closely but I’m assuming this is the team kit with trp and crankbrothers. Also had an unlabelled Maxxis tire on the front that I had not seen before (might be old news though).

Troy Lee mentioned in the Gypsy Tales podcast they are working on a D5
Looks like a Shorty, except for the different center lug siping.
Damn I love that bike.
Ye I know that. MTBr has had the same posts. Just wonder where you are getting them lol.
@Uncle Cliffy mentionned the shorty but I don't think this could be an updated shorty.
Shorty is currently set as 2 rows of narrow spaced center block between each wide spaced center block. So Wide/Narrow/Narrow/Wide
But both Minion DHRII and DHF are set up as Wide/Narrow/Wide/Narrow for center lugs. Side lugs are more inline with how current DHRII and DHF are. Full length siping on one of the pair of center lugs could mean an update to the DHF but I am actually thinking if maybe Maxxis wants to combine DHRII and DHF into a single model. I counted around 50 sku just for the DHF that could be eliminated with a consolidation.
And that's why i love Squamish.... "Friggin trails were a bit muddy bud so I had to run to Marks for some overall's ta get splashin' again"
There was some discussion of this tire last year, hopefully the forums Maxxis insider will give us an update soon. I'm thinking DHF II since it was stated that it wasn't going to be a Shorty v3, DHR III or High Roller III.
Continental has the Argotal, which seemed to do well for some racers on the wet / not quite mud spike / tracks. My guess - slot this tire in and mirror some of Argotal's qualities and get amarketing splash at the same time.
Yes, as has been covered multiple times in this forum. that new Maxxis tire is in response/to compete with the Argotal (as well as updated Hillbilly). IF it will be replacing any tire in the lineup, it's replacing the Shorty 2. That said, this will likely be it's own line as it will not really serve the purpose of the Shorty 2 (cut spike).
Maxxis is bleeding big time After Market marker share to Conti. Once Conti gets production up to speed and they can supply large volumes, they will take OEM spec from Maxxis. Maxxis definitely panicing for that and will likely be trying to release their updated casing that Neko hinted at as well as this new intermediate shred tire.
Also, Dak was on the tire for his win Sunday. It will be a popular tread. Jackson won MSA on it as well.
Another diaper shot from OO’s story
Sans idler
New rotors from TRP also on that rig (spotted a few times on TRP riders' bikes). They look similar to the Disk Shark, without fins.
New tyre is the 'High Roller' reborn. Plenty of hotpatches were floating around the southern hemisphere during the summer.
new maxxis tyre is a high roller 3, its pretty soft and squirmy on the hard pack but seems to be good in the deep dust
As far as I know there is nothing supposed to be realeased in 2024, as they didn't mention it in their 2024 plan they were showing to the retailers in fall 2023. My guess would be around March 2025.
